Ok, so now what??

Q: Can a Wolf Guard Pack Leader or Independent Character join a

squad of Wolf Scouts and benefit from the Outflank special rule

because at least one model has the ability? (p27)

A: Yes.

We all know that a wolf guard in TDA or on a bike cant join our scouts.

Can we now put two Rune priest on bikes to join them? or a character in TDA?

TDA and bikes have never been able to join scouts.

Our only loophole now is joining a SoH WP/WGBL to a pack of BC/GH and joining a WG in TDA to that.

well, no, our new faq say that we can join IC and Wgpl, no restriction. The restriction is only for WG.

This is something new for 6th, since we never could join Ic/wgpl in 5th.

By raw I can join a RP with Jww and MH on a bike and hit their held back hq. (by raw) :/

And you don't even need to have SoH on the IC to join the Scouts and Outflank now, like you used to have to do.

However, with the removal of Assaulting from reserves, it just isn't really as worthwhile as before.

Unless it is a priest and some more shooty scouts.

So just read the codex and the FAQ.

So yeah, I think this is allowing all kinds of combinations of IC's to come behind enemy lines. I doubt this is RAI UNLESS they are accounting for no assaulting from reserves.

I think a shooty counts and a shooty R. priest could still cause havoc. Or a Wolf Lord with terminator armor and SS where he can absorb lots of wounds for a maxed scout pack.

How about a Wolf Priest w/SotH and a 10man Grey Hunter Pack w/2X Melta screening an Assault Wolf Scout pack with Arjac?

I think the assaulty scout pack with Arjac will get obliterated before they could assault in turn 3-4.

Which is why they spend their no-assault turn "screened" by the shooty WP/GH pack which is pumping firepower into your target. Then the WP (assuming he lives) can move into the WS pack for the charge.

That sounds worth trying. :P

Arjak can't lead the Scouts, as he is a Wolf Guard and he is in TDA - that is restricted. You can, however, attach an IC (which Arjak is not) in TDA to the Scouts. If they come in screened, that would help, but honestly the Scouts can't really do "shooty" better than Hunters can, and Hunters cost the same base price, and can now come on with a SoH IC.

I suppose it would make for good laughs to bring Ragnar on BEL with a maxed Scout unit, however, just to psych-out an opponent.

Good point. Throw Arjac in the GH pack and a dual Plasma Pistol-wielding, Mark of the Wulfen PAWG in the Scout pack.

Yes, of course TDA can't lead scouts. Should have remembered that. Reading too many rules updates.
