Mordenkenain
I currently have Zarakynel (forge world KoS), and a custom Daemon Prince(ss), and will be constructing a custom KoS from the forge world avatar model in the near future for Zarakynel and the Avatar of Secrets: 60mm or oval base? for the Daemon Princess: 40mm or 60mm (it looks better on the 40mm, cos it's a bit slender, but I don't want to be accused of 'modelling for advantage' and the old prince comes on the 40mm, but as far as I can tell, the newer plastic kit seems to come on the 60mm base) Please offer advice before complaining about a Daemon Princess (I've already heard enough from other people accusing me of going 'hehe boobies' despite it being handled relatively tastefully [it's slaaneshi, there are limits]) thanks in advance, Mordenkenain Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/260636-to-base-or-not-to-base/ Share on other sites
Brother Nihm
for Zarakynel and the Avatar of Secrets: 60mm or oval base?I am leaning towards 60mm, as using the oval can be seen as modelling for advantage. Also, screw the nay-sayers, as Slaanesh has very little to do with "lol bewbs" and it IS a beautiful sculpt. for the Daemon Princess: 40mm or 60mm (it looks better on the 40mm, cos it's a bit slender, but I don't want to be accused of 'modelling for advantage' and the old prince comes on the 40mm, but as far as I can tell, the newer plastic kit seems to come on the 60mm base)60mm again, as that is what the new kit is supplied with. It also gives you the opportunity to embellish the base-work with cool details. (screaming victims, rapturous servants, little daemons, ruins, you name it, go crazy) My 2 Kraks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/260636-to-base-or-not-to-base/#findComment-3171745 Share on other sites
Circus Nurgling
60mm. Like Nihm said, this will be one of the few times you'll have enough time to go crazy with your base. Think it over and do something cool with it. Bewbs on your slaaneshi prince? Yes, please. Mordenkenain
thanks, I was just worried that she might look slightly swamped on a 60mm base, cos she's kinda small, but actually if I think about it, going over the top on the base is also an excuse to give her the height she needs to avoid 'modelling for advantage' The model is designed to look like a marilith (snake tail, 6 arms [even her arms obey the sacred numbers]) and is a composite of severina devout from the inquisitor range, the tail from the cockatrice and a load of legs from the daemonette box as a side note, can anyone suggest a good head for her...? I'll post up a pic when I'm done :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/260636-to-base-or-not-to-base/#findComment-3173862 Share on other sites
