New HH books by FW

Recommended Posts

Hi there fellow brothers, a quick question fot you, how much the new Horus Heresy books will cost?

I don't need to know the exact price, obviously..

More or less like a normal imperial armour? Or like Thamurkhan ( The first book of warhammer forge )

Thanks..

There is already a thread here (and in the news section) so I've merged them. Please don't keep making more. ;)

Might explain the high prices...

Lavishly decorated, this book is leather-bound with inlaid metal detailing and foil-blocked page edging, and also features metal cleats to the corners of the book’s casing impressed with the Imperial Aquila. This 290-page tome delves into the fratricidal conflict on Isstvan III that saw Warmaster Horus’s traitor Legions purge their own ranks of those legionaries that would remain loyal to Terra.

It is a stand-alone supplement for Warhammer 40,000 and contains a vast array of colour profiles, maps and artwork. Also included is a full Space Marine Legion army list and background, histories, character profiles and special rules for the Death Guard, Sons of Horus, World Eaters and Emperor’s Children Legions.

Squadrons of ‘Sky Hunters’ are fielded by almost all of the Legiones Astartes. These feared strike units are heavily armed and mounted upon sophisticated and powerful craft more akin to small flyers than ground bikes. There are several patterns of jetbike produced by the Mechanicum, all of which are modified from designs that pre-date the Imperium, and all of which are in considerable demand by the Space Marine Legions.

The Scimitar Pattern Space Marine Legion Jetbike, designed by Daren Parrwood, is a single multi-part resin model which features four weapons options: a Heavy Bolter, Plasma Cannon, Multi-melta or Volkite Culverin. This detailed resin kit will be available to buy at Games Day, in limited numbers.

Alongside this is the Scimitar Pattern Legion Jetbike Squadron – this kit contains three Jetbikes and will also be available to purchase in limited numbers at Games Day.

Simon Egan and Edgar Skomorowski have designed sets of MkII and MkIV shoulder pads for the Sons of Horus, Death Guard, Emperor’s Children and World Eaters Legions. Each set contains 10 resin shoulder pads bearing Legion insignia, and each set will be on sale in limited numbers at Games Day.

We’ll also have limited numbers of Sons of Horus and Death Guard Etched Brass and World Eaters, Sons of Horus and Death Guard Decal Sheets, each designed by Paul Rudge and each packed with Legion-specific heraldry, blazons and squad insignia.

I hope and pray that they come out with a cheaper version of the book. That much metal is almost a waste. And it better not be aluminum for a US$32.50 increase in price. Still, I can't justify a little over US$100 for a book. A series of books, maybe. But one? Nope.

Man, I'm doomed. I'm such a book whore, too. Leather and metal detailing! :[ My poor, poor bank account...

edit:

Yeah, that's a good point. If it's aluminum, I think I'll have to pass. Nothing worse than buyer's remorse every time I look at something like that.

On the other hand, if it's nice, I really enjoy looking at things like that. The complete set will probably be close to a grand!

I'm sorry but 70 nicker for a book is like stealing sweets from a child, then punching the child in the face, then punching its mother in the face, then running away before the dad reallises whats going on

fair play its all nicely bound in faux leather and with fancy metal bits, if they knock out a cheaper softback edition, which im fairly sure they won't, I might be tempted to fork out and buy it

Come on Forge World, theres a recession on and my pockets are getting tighter

I really, honestly do think that the RRP is par for the course, considering the price of large hardbacks, especially the price of FW's hardbacks, and the fact this one has certain embellishments. Granted, it would be nice for a cheaper 'regular version' for those of us with money restrictions but complaining that the price is too high, for a luxury product, is pointless.

yeh I agree the price tag should be expected going on previous forgeworld publications, but maybe I'm just a tight fisted yorkshireman but I think that £70 quid for a book, even a nicely bound one, is far too much. It would make good business sense for forgeworld to print some cheaper copies, I'm more than sure they'd sell shed loads, even at £40 or 50 quid which I'd probably fork out tbh
