Elite: Lone Wolf w/ Mark of the Wulfen (3#, 85 pts)

1 Lone Wolf w/ Mark of the Wulfen, (Infantry; Assault Grenades; Krak Grenades; Power Armour; Mark of the Wulfen; Plasma Pistol x2; A Glorious Death; Acute Senses; Beastslayer; Counter-attack; Eternal Warrior; Fearless; Feel No Pain; Pack of One)

2 Fenrisian Wolf (Beasts; Vicious claws and fangs; Counter-attack)

Loads of fun for the whole family...

Meatgrinders build is by far the most common and powerful at 85 pts. A variation im considering is simply tda cf. 25 pts cheaper but not as survivable against ap2. I think both builds accomplish what you want by threatening dreads MC's characters and tarpitting, then it just comes down to pts available.

With a d6 in the shooting phase...

On a more serious note, I've had four 6th edition games and used a pair of LW with TH/SS and 2 wolves each.

The first game one of them held out against a flyrant for a good 3 turns, leaving it with 1 wound, his buddy didn't work so well (swarmed by gaunts), but either way it's 200 points out of an army that HAS to be dealt with.

Their second game, they both bit it in 1 round of shooting from GK allied with SW and died thanks to my inability to roll dice...but then again, it's a round of shooting where they didn't kill anything else.

Estimating their usefulness with my limited number of games, I would say +good.

Cheers.
