Ixmas Thronius
Ok all I've spent the last several weeks months and years accumulating a fairly sizeable Sisters army. This is mostly what it is: HQ 1 Uriah Jacobus 1 Arch Confessor Kyrinov 1 Saint Celestine 1 Priest with Club 1 Priest with Chainsword 1 Missionary with Plasma Gun 1 Inquisitor with Inferno Pistol 1 Canoness with combi bolter 1 Canoness with Storm bolter 1 Canoness 1 Servo Skull 5 Arco-flagellants Elites 27 Sister Repentia 3 Repentia Mistresses Troops 1 Sister Superior with Bolt Pistol and chainsword 2 Sister Superiors with power maces 8 Sister Superiors with chainsword and plasma pistol 1 Sister Superior with Book 1 Sister Superior with Power sword 1 Sister Superior with Chainsword and scroll 8 Sisters with flamers 13 Sisters with Meltaguns 7 Sisters with Storm bolters 86 Sisters with Bolters Fast Attack 9 Seraphim With bolt pistols 5 Seriphem with Hand flamers 3 Seriphem Superiors, 1 with chainsword, 1 with power sword, 1 with book Heavy Support 2 Repentance Engines New and unassembled 7 Sisters with Heavy Flamers 9 Sisters with Heavy Bolters 8 Sisters with Multi Meltas Other 8 Immolilators New in sealed boxes This is of course a lot to strip and paint and I suffer from LPS or lazy painter syndrome ( -_- ) So this is the first batch I plan to paint: Arch Confessor Kyrinov, Sister Squad 1 with Superior flamer and heavy flamer, Sister Squad 2 with the same as 1, Sister repentia squad with 4 and mistress, and Seriphem Squad with Superior and hand flamer. I'll post pictures as I go. Wish me luck! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/260863-duncs-sisters-of-battle-army-project/ Share on other sites
*Furyou Miko
That's a lot of models! Good luck! Any chance of photos? I'm curious about the Canoness with Storm Bolter. Aqui
That's a lot of models! Good luck! Any chance of photos? I'm curious about the Canoness with Storm Bolter. That is a lot of models! What points value does that all come too roughly? I've heard that the average SoB army can field more models than a lot of others, so I'm interested what those models come to. Ixmas Thronius
Update time number 1: The repentia are all cleaned and base coated, the basic sister squads are soaking in oven cleaner, and the seriphem are on deck! @Miko: I'll post a pic later but the canoness is a converted heavy bolter sister with the canonesses book and an imperial storm bolter. I'll figure points as I paint lol I'm a tease :D . @2:05 am Last update for the night: The first troop squad is based and base coated. I will hit the next one tomorrow morning. WarriorFish
Quite a nice collection, I look forward to seeing pictures. What colour scheme are you doing? Jacinda
I love my Repentia but dang! 3 squads? You have a lot of metal needing paint. Good luck and have fun. *Furyou Miko
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/KaguraHakubi/Smilies/sweatdroplaugh.gif A guy in my store is planning a Sisters army built around two Battle Sister squads, three Repentia squads and nine Penitent Engines. Talking of Penitent Engines, I actually fielded three today (Two counts-as dreadnoughts and a counts-as Hellbrute... but the Hellbrute was very, very sorry for what he did). They chewed 600 points of Strength D gargantuan creature. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/260863-duncs-sisters-of-battle-army-project/#findComment-3175214 Share on other sites
Naminé
Wasn't this army just for sale on ebay? I mean, the description is word for word the same! Only it didn't meet its reserve... Have you decided to keep them then? But yeah thats a huge amount of painting for anyone  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/260863-duncs-sisters-of-battle-army-project/#findComment-3175240 Share on other sites
Ixmas Thronius
Yeah I did try to sell it recently. I decided though if I can't make a good price then I might as well keep them lol. Update for today 2 sister squads primed. WarriorFish
It was the Emperor's Divine Will that stopped them selling so He clearly has plans for your army :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/260863-duncs-sisters-of-battle-army-project/#findComment-3175514 Share on other sites
Naminé
Fair enough ^_^ I've noticed that if you really want to get good money from SoB models, you need to sell the units peicemeal instead :) But I agree with WarriorFish that you are probably meant to keep them! With that many models, my priming method would be: find an old warehouse, lay them all out on the floor, grab a few buckets of white or black paint and pour it over the lot of them ;) (Don't actually do that) Looking forward to seeing the results! *Furyou Miko
Actually, considering the amount of wastage normally involved with using GW spray undercoat, the best thing to do might be to arrange the entire army on newspaper on the floor and just go over it all at once. Sume
That's my plan for my models. Once I get all of this stripped, including a couple rhino chassis. The cost of GW spray paint is a lot, so I figure get the most models at once when priming. WarriorFish
That's always a good plan, but try not to leave the undercoated models out as you paint. Lots of undercoated models in view form an aura that impedes painting :woot: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/260863-duncs-sisters-of-battle-army-project/#findComment-3177834 Share on other sites
Ixmas Thronius
Well no new painting but two additions. The list now has two exorcists. And the list rolls on........ Ixmas Thronius
Well I finally have moved past the priming stage and on to painting. The first sister was painted in 1.5 hours and the photos are bad I know. Here is sister Ysabella: http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/424663_556543390965_1063167108_n.jpg http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/548078_556543415915_1051735068_n.jpg http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/228966_556543435875_1288252794_n.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/260863-duncs-sisters-of-battle-army-project/#findComment-3183676 Share on other sites
Ixmas Thronius
Good Morning Everyone! So I now have half a sister squad painted. I'm using purity seal on the models but getting a fuzzy result. Its not bad on this paint job and kind of makes the models look more organic. But for future uses, how do I avoid the "fuzzy" result? Also another pic :P http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/390525_556545207325_1927105876_n.jpg http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/397224_556545247245_1845451221_n.jpg See y'all again soon! :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/260863-duncs-sisters-of-battle-army-project/#findComment-3183811 Share on other sites
*Furyou Miko
Oh dear god what have you done to your camera? I suggest cleaning the lens with a glasses cloth and improving your desk space lighting. Also, if your varnish is making things fuzz, you're using too much.
