Time to be honest, who got Dark Vengeance and still has all of the models still on the sprue? Or how about some of the models still on the sprue, but nothing painted or even primed? For those of you who rushed out and have already painted your set up to Golden Daemon standards, this thread is not for you; it is for people like me who are only just priming a handful of models while the rest are still sitting on the sprue crying out from beneath the closed lid (and I keep it closed to muffle those cries) to be clipped, cleaned, primed, and painted.

For me, I have the Chaos Lord and Chosen off the sprue and cleaned. Right now they are sitting in my "to spray box" and might possibly, maybe, well, perhaps if I feel up to it, and the wind remains clam and I don't get distracted, or likely tomorrow if or probably when something comes up, get a coat of Krylon flat black today...or later this week, or perhaps after that, or sometime, but it will get done.

I did get the templates off the sprue and put in my Cadia bag with all the others though, so there is some progress on that front.

Perhaps we need a Dark Vengeance painting challenge where you photograph the unpainted starter set and have until the end of the year to paint the entire thing or something.

Finally ! A challenge worthy of my skills! I got ALL the frigging pieces still on the sprue ! I got my box set rather late to be honest -last friday - but I up the ante -- I DID NOT OPEN IT TILL SUNDAY!

We`ll see who the slowest painter of the world is yet....

But mainly I like the sculpts so well and am still undecided on the colour / warband sheme anyway. Might make a set of Fallen from the DA set, too...by next year or so... ;)

I have my set all clipped and assembled and I have cleaned the chaos models but no paint as yet and I have had the models for over a week.

Will be painting some test models soon. Was wanting to do a nurgle warband and will start with the cultists until I get some nice murky rotting flesh colours sorted out.

However I have a six month long dark angels challenge going at the moment so I will only be doing them in between my DA models.

All off the spruces, some head conversions already completed and they have been trimmed to the best of my ability but I realised that I have no base paints left so am waiting for my order to come soon with some paints and more DA to make a small task force.
We bought DV on the first day but just opened it last Friday. It's a long story; short version is we were out of town at my room mates parents house and she just came home last Wednesday and honestly we did not feel up to playing. I broke out box again Friday night and we clipped most of the models off the sprue. I have all of the Chaos except the cultist put together but have not cleaned up the lines or anything yet. Of the dark angels, my room mate has all of her terminators assembled, cleaned up and ready to paint. We put together the bikes and about half of marines with the other half clipped out and test fitted but not glued yet. The chaplain is still on the sprue and likely will remain that way indefinitely.

havent even got as far as buying it yet.

and once i do i imagine at least one army will be onthe sprues for a long time.

i still have aobr models on the sprue an havent even touched my space hulk boxset past taking the plastic wrap off.

procrastinators of the world unite! tomorrow, unite tomorrow!

How about an AoBR Slackers thread - I've still got two boxes worth of Orks to paint up, but at least I've built them all :P

I can top that, my 2nd edition set is still unpainted. Those models have seen many a battle but nary a drop paint!

I am this evening a DV Slacker NO LONGER! I'm just now taking a well-earned break from putting together a massive 4 Cultists and Anarkus! Yep. I'm well on the way to completing the Brethren of Lidded Eye.

I'm working my way up to the Chosen, Lord and Hellbrute, I figured that I'd make any mistakes on the Cultists first. That way they're also glue-fodder as well as bolter-fodder.

Nothing off the sprues for me yet, because I'm busy working on other kits and more importantly another army - I only ordered the DV set early because of the rulebook and wanting to ensure I get the Interrogator-Chaplain.

And as AoBR was mentioned, I've assembled all marines and even painted three termies and the Dread, but only assembled four Orks - again because of Templars being the priority. When my Templars are done, not sure in what order I'll start working on the other armies!

I am waiting for the new Chaos codex to come out. I assembled one box set but I need to see what options the Helbrute has so I can chop up my second one and make it different from the first. I am also going to have to trash about 1/3rd of the cultists. They look really stupid imho. The squad leader with the shotgun and huge collared coat has to be one of the worse models GW has ever made. Maybe I can find a sucker to buy them on eBay....
Odd that so many hate the cultists. They look better than I would've expected, and some of them are really cool. Others not so much, but no models that I'd really dislike either. But with that said, my Chaos playing will most likely be limited to them acting as allies for Orks in the future anyway.
Well Dark Vengeance just got booted off the top of my to paint list after seeing the new Angron. He'll be my second 40K Primarch and a perfect match for Leman Russ, even if he is far larger and more impressive than his two decade old predecessor. The more Primarchs they release, the lower that stuff will go. Now all Forgworld needs to do is take my money!
