neonfunk Posted September 14, 2012 Share Posted September 14, 2012 Hi all, I'm planning to assemble a few deathwatch kill teams, and i thought it might be cơol to ađd in a few "trophy racks" or "spoils of war" on the deatchwatch models. My main inquiry i suppose, would be, would the chaos TDA trophy racks be out of the question in terms of scale, or plug-and-play issues? I of course realise, that I would need fairly extensive conversion work to achieve this, but I was hoping if anyone can tell me if it is at ALL possible to achieve something like this? Obviously, I dont want to commit to buying 20 or so TDA trophy racks, to find out that there's no way I can incoporate them into my models in PA. On the other hand, if there are any alternative suggestions that may aid me, please feel free to englighten me. Any and ALL feedback is greatly appreciated! thade Posted September 14, 2012 Share Posted September 14, 2012 There are some demon-heads-on-spikes and such in the GK kits (Termies and PA) you might be able to use with little conversion effort. Chaos-painted helmets on belts or ork skulls could do the same thing. :D You could just as easily take those heads and put them up on racks, I suppose. However, I find the prospect of "creating" a trophy rack from scratch to be a daunting task (i am quite new to the hobby). Just wondering if anyone would know the answer to this? Also, as far as spoils of war being displayed on belts, I',m not sure how I would even begin to create that! PipX Posted September 20, 2012 Share Posted September 20, 2012 Those are designed to fit in the groove between a Chaos termies shoulder pad and torso. If you do a search for chaos trophy rack on ebay, a few of them have racks with tyranid skulls, and I am pretty sure another of the chaos kits have racks/spikes with a necron and tau head. For an alien head you could always just do some basic green stuffed chain to make it look like they secured it to their armor that way. gives you a rough idea on the chain, doesn't require a lot of finesse work initially.
