I took some close shots on the Iron Priest and Wolves.

And also, for people who want to do a similar conversion, here's how I split the Cyber-wolf with the Fenrisian wolf. If you do it carefully, you're not wasting anything (bought seven models, 4to be Cyber wolves, 2 to be HQ wargear, and 1 left over).

I'm glad you didn't go the snow base route (lol)

Yeah, snow bases are cool, but when I see them I always ask "maybe they are still on Fenris?" For my Space Wolves, I didn't want their to be any question that they weren't fighting abroad and on the offensive.

Good job.

Did you have any problems with the rear legs of the cyber wolf model? The one I bought won't support it's own weight, and the leg keeps bending.

I had that problem, too. The knee out right snapped at me - I had to do a sloppy re-sculpt of the breaking section for one of them if you look closely.

For the other model, I ended up using the front leg to support the whole wolf, sculpting a rock for the front leg to stand on. You lose some of the leaping pose, but I didn't want the leg to break again because it's such a bitch to fix.

Biggest problem I have seen with finecast, at least to me. I know a guy that was like "LOOK AT THE DETAIL!!!" and re-bought every model he owned that cam out in finecast. Most are bent to one side, or are warped in some way, but just from sitting around. He bought a Mangler squig, and it is now side ways instead of vertical.... I like most of the models the are in finecast, I just wish I would stop hearing horror stories about the quality of it. I will probably still get a cyberwolf or two, but am going to do something to the models to make them more durable.

Just to comment on the bases.

My old SW army had the runic mountain bases from Secret Weapon Miniatures. Snow on those bases would indeed look awesome, but does bring to mind if they are still on Fenris which leads to them just on a training exercise. My new bases I have decided upon will be the ruined temple bases from Secret Weapon. That does two things for me, the destruction of Prospero and/or the whole Quietude scenario.

Also with the flatness of the temple floor, no need to spend so much time greenstuffing gaps at the feet.

Awesome idea. :cuss I may do this to my own wolves. How do they fare in the game now?

I generally dislike the regular Fenrisian wolves, and only put them with my Wolf Lord to absorb some shooting. The cyber wolves that run with the Iron Priest are another story. They have a better profile and armour save, making for a a fast, inexpensive assault unit that hits relatively hard and can take a reasonable beating.
