Lord of Blades
So this is basically where I will be posting updates on all my models related to my Deathwatch project. So far I have a rather small force planned consisting of less than 30 marines and a few PDF allies and scouts. The special thing about this project is that I will be posting 1 marine at a time. This is mainly because each of them being from a different chapter, I feel obliged to write a backstory for each character, their personalities and who they hate and like. This will make the project seem longer, but will add to the fun I think. So far the list will be: HQ: Pedro Kantor (Built, not painted or primed yet) Librarian (Being Painted) Elites: 5x Sternguard (1 Painted, 4 in progress) 5x Sternguard (Not built) Dreadnaught (Not built) Troops: 10x Scouts (5 primed) 10x Scouts (5 primed) Fast Attack: 5x Vanguard (1 being painted, 2 built, 2 in progress) 5x Vanguard (Not built) 3x Scout Bikers (Not built) Heavy Support: Vindicator (Not Built) All the scouts will be modeled as Imperial Guard/PDF/militia men, so as not to go against fluff too much. Also, the Vindicator will be modeled from a Leman Russ if all goes according to plan. Here is a list of the guys I am working on and painting. HQs (Pedro and Libby) Pedro: Ultramarine Libby: Blood Angel Sternguard Squad 1 (Kill Team Anvil) Sergeant: Blood Angel Hvy Weapons: Angry Marine Techmarine: Imperial Fist Marine: Iron Hand Marine: Ultramarine Vanguard Squad 1 (Kill Team Hammer) Sergeant: Black Templar Marine: Space Wolf Marine: Raven Guard Marine: Minotaur Marine: Salamander So far the project is just beginning with only 5 guys built and being painted. I have finished one guy and am working on the rest. First Update/Character: Name: Octavious Bellorum of the Ultramarines Age: 235 Rank (Chapter): Veteran Sergeant, 1st Company Rank (Deathwatch): Deathwatch Marine Squad: Anvil Personality: Octavious is a stout man. He firmly adheres to the beliefs of the Codex Astartes and is a very solid marine. He is very caring and like all Ultramarines has a firm sense of honor and courage. He believes that differing from the Codex Astartes is heretical, and therefore has very tense relations with squad mates from chapters such as the Space Wolves. Extra Notes: Octavious is also my character in Deathwatch. I am joining a campaign and haven't rolled for new stats yet, but he is a Tyrannic War veteran with a stalker bolter and laser targeter. He is a pretty fun guy to play as. Pictures: I know I am a terrible painter, but I spent a LONG time getting the bits and patience to sit down and paint him. I know I am terrible at it :'( I tried... But here they are anyways in the attachments. enjoy and please comment and criticise! If you have any painting techniques you know are good and useful, please feel free to explain them to me! I am always open to suggestion! http://imageshack.us/a/img820/9316/img0438ec.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img838/9088/img0440wl.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img822/2246/img0442or.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img3/5905/img0441cu.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/261066-deathwatch-project/ Share on other sites
Lord of Blades
Just a quick update. I began painting up the rest of the first stenguard kill team. I have finished painting the Ultramarine after I decided to do some re-painting on the legs and backpack. I started painting up the Apothecary Blood Angel, the Angry Marine, and the Imperial fist. So far they have come out nice, and I attempted some free hand work on the Imperial Fists Icon. It came out pretty nice, and I will be posting pictures soon. CyderPirate
Great work. Kitbash has a lot of character and the paintjob is excellent, highlighting black is a pain in the netherregions. Lord of Blades
Thanks ;) Glad you like him, and I have realised how much a pain painting black can be >.< But so far, I've kinda gotten into the groove of painting it. Not perfect but ok. I will be posting pics as soon as I finish painting this Imperial Fist's bolter. Lord of Blades
So, the update I promised. Not all of them are primed/painted or even fuly built. The Watch Captain (and counts as Pedro Kantor for in game purposes...) Tell me what you think of the pose and pieces I used. http://imageshack.us/a/img152/4774/img0444ja.jpg Lots of Grey Knight bits and Captain bits mushed together. Yes the Power fist is forgeworld stuff. I traded for it. BEST BITZ TRADE EVER!! And heres a back view. It is the GK Teleporty back packs with the little rods cut off. It makes it look better IMO. http://imageshack.us/a/img51/8075/img0445mr.jpg And here is a Raven Guard Vanguard Veteran: http://imageshack.us/a/img193/5714/img0446wb.jpg Not much beauty on him, but I hope to justify it with an awesome paint job. Black Templar Squad Leader of the Vanguard vets. He gets a pretty power weapon shown later. http://imageshack.us/a/img138/1329/img0447kh.jpg The Blood Angel Libby http://imageshack.us/a/img23/7750/img0448q.jpg I had the bits, I wanted a Librarian, and this is the result. He is painted terribly, and I am repainting most of him. And I also ran out of flesh color... Imperial Fist guy http://imageshack.us/a/img507/4271/img0449ep.jpg I started working on him today. He is the Techmarine. He's got a cool pose with his arms when they are on him... Devastator marine for the sternguards kill team http://imageshack.us/a/img337/3032/img0451oz.jpg He gets a heavy bolter. And the bits and pieces for all the hand-less guys... http://imageshack.us/a/img255/2808/img0452yn.jpg And I am really proud of myself on this bit of work... don't hate ;) http://imageshack.us/a/img337/5581/img0453th.jpg My first attempt at free hand, and it came out pretty nice. An Imperial Fist icon for the techmarine. He is holding an auspex. Update to come in a few days time, while I finish up the Devastator and Libby and work on the others. Please C&C and tell me what you think of them! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/261066-deathwatch-project/#findComment-3178582 Share on other sites
