Roland
I love the rules for the Stormtalon. It's great and I'd love to use one (two actually). I can't get over the model. I've seen some conversions I like, but all are either a lot of extra effort or cash or both. I'd like to use a Tempest as a counts as, with mortis dread arms magnetized/downsized/converted to represent most of the guns My question is, does anyone have both models? (a Talon and a tempest) How do they compare for size? I dont want to take something significantly smaller than the existing models. NemFX
A tempest is a land speeder variant, and as such, its smaller than the stormtalon Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/261206-land-speeder-tempest-vs-stormtalon/#findComment-3177687 Share on other sites
Darklighter
Just look at the difference in sizes of a land speeder and a stormraven are and you'll very close. Yodhrin
Just look at the difference in sizes of a land speeder and a stormraven are and you'll very close. It really isn't that pronounced at all, this chap has kitbashed the two quite successfully. Myself, I'd cut out the Storm Chicklet parts out completely and go with a hybrid of the FW-style closed-dockpit Tempest and a LS Storm, that should get you close enough to the original size that nobody can complain you're modelling for advantage, without having to suffer that hideous creature staring at you every time you open your army case( <_< ). Absolutely my bad I miss-read the original post. When I read stormtalon I pictured the stormeagle. Absolutely my bad I miss-read the original post. When I read stormtalon I pictured the stormeagle. From what I'm seeing, the body of the Talon and the Tempest are pretty close in size, its that the wings of the Talon have the turbines on them and the Tempest is pretty bare. I don't mind the weapon pods.... much. It's the chin turret that's really bad. Not a fan of the vertor wings either. The conversion I've liked the most was the one someone (here I think) did that made it into a jet, and it looked a lot like a A-10. But it's a little beyond me. I'm gonna have to do some digging and see how the tempest is put together. I think if the wings are bulked up a bit it'd be fine.
