GK allies: inquisition

Well so far I only have a 1000 points of GK but am also looking into some allies to add to my army for the higher point games.

I also want to maintain an inquisition chamber militant feel to my army.

For my allied HQ choice i was considering a death watch kill team. This HQ can deep strike so I am considering using it to DS behind enemy lines and hitting a group from the front and behind

For my troop choice I would do a unit of battle sisters maybe a full unit of 20 to help hold objectives since i want to use my GK to push opposing units off of objectives while leaving 1 of my allies to hold the objective freeing up one of GK units to attack more.

Other than that I am not sure if i should try to get the complete allied force tree, which i am not sure if i should since that means less grey knights.

Basically I have no idea of what load out i should go for the allies

Sadly, due to board rules, we can't discuss anything except power-armoured allies. The power-armoured ones are some of the more meh as well, hence my frustration.

Sisters are a joke army, we have far better ally options elsewhere.

Templars don't really bring anything we don't already have, and their age is starting to show (hopefully updated soon)

Spiritual Liege are kinda the same, not really much on offer we want, Contemptor-Mortis Dreadnoughts are available

Blood Angels bring speed and decent durability, plus plenty of melta, Librarian Dreads, Baal Flamestorm Outflankers etc, decent ally

Dark Angels have yet to be released, still need to see what they're bringing, currently Ravenwing are the only thing we want (aside from Contemptor-Mortis Dreadnoughts)

Space Wolves bring cheaper PA squads for holding ground, again plasma+melta, like BA good mixture of cool stuff to add in, decent ally

The key thing to remember is that Allies are always going to take away points from our already expensive army. Our mini-Ally (Coteaz Henchmen) in many ways does what we want from an ally (dirt-cheap Troops, Razorspam, plasma and melta, lascannon etc). Think carefully about what you've got with your base Knight army, and what gaps you want to fill.

Sisters are a joke army

Spiritual Liege

wow you like to insult people huh?

sisters offer cheap troops choice, and some of the best heavy support choices in the game for their cost.. oh and celestine!!!

great fr an alied detachment.

C:SM (not C:UM or spiritual liege) offers unique units like LSS and thunderfire cannons aswell as some kick-ass SCs.

every codex is different and offers something other dexes do not, dont be so dismissive

Well getting sisters is probably one of the armies i will get eventually. If i have my way after i get my Brotherhood of Grey knights (not including vehicles and special characters I will have a 100 units, I will also get some vehicles excluding the dread knight figuring out how many vehicles i want to get for my basically fluff army) I would want a Commandery of sisters which is the basic size of a battle company. From there i would have a large amount of armies to go for.

But back to topic kinda. If i got codex SM they would be run as Storm Wardens with prob a homebrew rule of the ones with the claymors get +1 str in close combat.

I do agree though BT do have a lot of overlap so it is something I would not want I mainly want to bring in something different.

As for sisters the cheap Heavy support is also what attracted me to them as a good potential ally which I want cheap but well defended hence the power armor.
