khalaek
Since I hate doing WIP pics (my camera/phone just gets covered in paint), I wanted to post some finished pictures of my new Dark Angels Tactical Marines. The first five are from the GW 40k Starter Paint Set, the second are from the Dark Vengeance set. With this new army I thought I would try out a new way of achieving the dark green armor. Basically I start with a Caliban Green basecoat, do a directional highlight from an overhead source using Warpstone Glow, then two washes of Drakenhof Nightshade (basically the greatest shade in the new range, IMO), then a Waywatcher Green glaze. I personally love the way it turns even if it's not as clean as it could be, and it's quick too (minus waiting time while washes dry). This is also the largest number of models I've painted at one time in 3 or 4 years, so I'm pretty happy with myself! :D Here are the pictures! Dechande
They look really good. Taking the pictures on a solid background like a piece of paper would make them easier to see though, painting table pics are always too busy. Just keep going with them now! Greycloak
Nice paintjob! But. Drill the bolters. Not expensive but a great improvement. :) If you feel insecure, just take a hobbyknife and stick it right in the middle of the nozzle to "dent" it. That way the drill will not slip.
