BlackPelt
Good day, Brothers! Great news - my first Pack arrived in the post this morning. I wasn't expecting it until Friday so huge thanks to Total Wargamer for getting it here in two days. I spent some time last night coming up with a back-story for my Wolf Lord, Erik Black Pelt. I'll share this once I've ironed out the creases and clunky narrative. Since ordering the Pack on Friday, I have been mulling how to kit them out. I've decided to model one as a young Black Pelt, one as a Rune Priest and the remaining 8 as Grey Hunters. Once I buy specific models for to represent the two ICs, I can incorporate their 'younger selves' into the 8 man GH Pack. I realise this will be quite points heavy for just ten men (500+) but I'm eager to get going and start my Wolf Lords tale! I suppose I could not bother with a Rune Priest just yet, but my gaming group are pretty laid back so I don't have to worry about 'legal' units too much. I'll get building my Pack tonight and get some images up just as soon as I can. May your ale stay frothy. TrentL
While I love my BloodAngels... don't get me wrong.. I'm quickly losing interest in them because my space wolves inspire me to create my own characters with rules to back it up. While Blood Angels can't even make their own chapter masters for successor chapters...or the suck compared to the ones in the book. You can tool up a wolf lord to make him something pretty special in combat... I can't wait to hear about Erik Black Pelt. I know that my wolf lord, Karth Bloodaxe (Cheesy name form a Highschool D&D barbarian I played for half of my life) will be riding an albino Thunderwolf... though I may make a model of him on foot and in TDA not sure. Brother Kovash
I've been playing a Deathwing army for the better part of two years, but the allure of the Space Wolves keeps calling for me. I've decided to start out by building up a small force to play with, around 1000 points. I haven't actually built anything yet and am still in the planning stages. Good luck with starting your pack. BlackPelt
TrentL - That's certainly part of the reason I wanted to field Space Wolves. I see them as a collection of Heroes-In-Waiting, each one destined for a glorious death or a Saga worthy of Bjorn himself! Your Bloodaxe sounds bad assed. I have decided to re-think Black Pelts history since Brother Captain Kezef’s absolutely epic retelling of the Saga of Vargr Stiarnaganger. That’s certainly the sort of detail I’d like to spend some time on! Brother Kovak - Thank you, and the same to you. Rift Blade
The sheer diversity you have with your IC's & the Wolf Guard have kept me playing Wolves off & on since 2nd Ed. More of a fluff gamer & hence have some conversions that look neat but game wise maybe not be so logical. Nice thing about Wolves. Don't be afraid to experiment. May not work but it's usually fun. Enjoy your new packs folks. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/261290-so-it-begins-the-saga-of-erik-black-pelt/#findComment-3179838 Share on other sites
