As the topic states, I just finished the Eisenhorn trilogy,

- Now overall it was awesome, i loved the first person story telling. the relationship that is developed between Cherubael and Eisenhorn is well done and Eisenhorns subtle yet inevitable change from Puritan to Radical is well developed. Also the use of all the different characters in his retinue is well done...the ironic twist of Fisching becoming a host was great, but i miss Aemos, he was one of my favorites. Heres what i didnt like though.....

- This is the second Inquisition "tome" that i have read, Inquisitor War, was the other. Both of them have this great cast of characters, awesome main characters, and a great plot....at first. They both suffer from the same problem though.......the endings are so much less than what i expected. It seemed in Eisenhorn that the ending should have just been......so much more. It seemed that there was 760 pages of awesome plot building banter, story and intrigue.....and then three pages of "oh thats it, story over." Am I alone in this thought????

- Dont get me wrong, Dan Abnett if you read this I love your books and always will. I just wanted more out of the ending. It felt that everything was wrapped up way to quickly and with out enough detail. Eisenhorn has basically been battling Pontius Glaw for over two hundred years and the finale is three pages???

- I just opened the Ravenor omnibus...trying to finish it before Pariah comes out. Please dont think im saying i dont like the Eisenhorn book or can do better....i write like a two year old and the Eisenhorn book is definitely in my top 3 of BL books.

Keep em coming Dan A. :)

okay so its not just me.....although i would have to disagree with Titanicus. Althought it could have gone much more into the factional dispute inside the mechanicus, which would have been nice. That really wasnt the point of the book. I thought titanicus was a showcase of the Titans, seeing as there is no other book really about them.

I see what you're saying, but that didn't end up bugging me as much really. It's kind of the Sopranos thing, we are being told a story of a segment of someone's life. Naturally there is a before and an after, but that doesn't affect the now. As a cheesy diagram:

birth________________{story we are being told}______________________death

I mean, how would it look if someone said "Write me a story of your life from March 10th, 2010 until September 18, 2012 then stop" ? There would be kind of a slew of unfinished details, things that haven't been wrapped up yet, questions about what happened before, etc. I view the books as a snapshot of moments of Eisenhorn's life, and some of the things aren't answered and it's okay. Sometimes things aren't all wrapped up like a faerie tale, we got a story of the Pontius Glaw affair and some other things, and when those things were done being told, the story stopped. There's other events going on that happened at the same time but weren't a part of that particular story.

That being said, I'm drooling over the return, in any part, of Bequin. She's one of my favorite characters.

Seconded. Despite any flaws that Mr Abnett may exhibit in his works, he remains a favourite of mine and I am fervently looking forward to Pariah.

You should check out Thorn and Talon as well. It's three short Eisenhorn audio dramas. The third one you should listen to after you've finished with Ravenor though.

And I think Abnett knows he left Eisenhorn kind of hanging at the end which is why we're getting Pariah at all.

Dont get me wrong, Abnett is one of my favorite BL authors, along with CL Werner.

- it was just something that i noticed and it was bugging me. I wanted to see if i was just being a stickler or if it was really something that I was seeing. My father is a published novelist and text book author so I've seen how authors work and how the creative process takes place. So I wanted to see if I saw that just because I had a special insight into the authors mind or if it was something everyone saw.

- Im just 10 pages into Ravenor and it has all ready sucked me in :cuss Ravenor is like a super duper Professor X on crack
