HellChyld Posted September 18, 2012 Share Posted September 18, 2012 So after plotting err talking with RT and Loken I agreed to trying logging how I was painting my newest variant of the 8th using the new GW paints.Finished in the blocking of the colors. Next will be working up the blue just a bit then some shadeing with Nuln Oil. Infernals are what I've called Chosen the last couple of years. here is some short fluff on the model. Infernal Ansell was formerly of the Terrors on nostromo and recruited in the 1st recruiting. Recruited into the 8th company Ansell made sgt quickly in 12th claw before the Hersey. Joining the Infernals after the splintering Ansell has done many nightmarish deeds in the name of Night Haunter and Lord Chyld. It was with his return without his commander and with no word of said commander that Ansell took to wearing the Red. Only upon return of the High Paladin or his own passing will the red be removed. While I field him along with my Nightlords he isn't of the 8th legion. Ru'athan is a psychic vampiric entity. While taken physical form of that of a marine he wears no colors or emblem of any of the known legions, chapters or renegades. I'm the same with Blood Angels). Night Captain Lahash is looking especially epic, that sword is monstrous! The colour scheme is cool, but it looks like the blue could do with a little more depth maybe? I think it's just that there are no major highlights on the blue. and I'd give the bone areas a wash, probably using some brown and black paint rather than an actual wash though. The brass you've got there is very nice though and the red looks pretty good too, again possibly just add a starker highlight to edges maybe. I look forward to seeing a few completed models! Love the horn on the first guy though. Painting looks good so far, though it's too early in the progress to make any major comments. Keep it up!
