DavidKits
Hey gang, Here for another update... kinda speed update i suppose... well speed for my painting style *laughs* anyway the Kits here with a new piece for you all *points and grins* I had posed the question what would you guys like to see next and the only vote i got was for one of my concept Ravenwing Imposter Alpha Legionnaire bikers. now if it seems different from the rest of the force please don't kill me I started this model at 11:30 am Sunday and I only finished it half an hour ago my time... oh roughly 2 am in the morning Monday @.@ *blahs and flops* Distance shot: from an Average distance away that I think most people playing a game would see when looking at the models this is the kinda of veiw you would get looking at him i took a front aspect shot because well.. its the most likely your opponent is gonna see and may confuse em a little seeing this guy in my bright blue and green and silver legionnaires. from a distance, like this (even with my terrible lighting.) I think i got the work out pretty well that until you get closer you may confuse him as a ravenwing I know when i showed him off earlier even with some of the hydra marks and such i had put on some I asked really thought i was joking and was making up a ravenwing biker... or at least a Fallen biker :D Upcloser shots: Now this is the kinda stuff you see when your up closer to the model. now please understand I know the gastank scales are a little off but how i paint is piece by piece paint then assemble so i tried my hardest to get it right but it still looks odd! anyway, i kept the blue/green symbols on the sides of the bike and the banner to have the colors to tie in with the rest of the force while keeping true to the majority of the colors of what a RW biker should look. as you can also see I put a few patches of Scales on his bike to once more tie him in as well as one of his elbow pads has it. though what i'm most proud of is the little free handed hydra mark on his leg's knee guard... I'm really proud, because it was rightly annoying to get just that!... had to repaint it... three times till i got it like that @.@ don't ask how annoying that is... please don't ask. I am thinking of painting up that bare shoulder guard with another scale layout like on the other Legionnaires I have finished up so far but i don't know, so please tell me your thoughts on where else i should add some scales to the biker as I feel he needs something else just 1 more thing to give more of a clue when you look close at the model he isn't RW. anyway Cheers gang, hope you are enjoying all of my works, I'm sorry I didn't put up my Word Bearers yet been such a busy busy weekend and with this one coming up being the Black Library event I plan to hunt down ADB and a few other authors get some sigs from em and nerd it up a little *smiles widely* if i can... ask ADB about a conversion painting idea if he has the time and is interested... that and pick his brain on that campaign of his like hows it going and all that fun stuff. Later! David Kits.
Mr.selfdestruct
I love the biker! I've been trying to figure out how to use the DA models in the box, and this is a brilliant solution.

DavidKits
@mr.selfdestruct i thought it was a neat idea and after finishing up this guy I am thinking of converting the rest of the Dark Angels in the box set to be along the same ideas Alpha Legionnaires Impostering Dark Angels to mess with the heads of the Guardsmen they are battling who are allied to a company of DA. oooo I wonder how long the Guardsmen will take it before they snap and start shooting at the real dark angels, at which time i imagine my Legionnaires would back off fade out and leave the planet while the DA and Guard go at it B) Â @omo667 I'm glad to hear you like my White Scars, when i posted them and my Thousand Sons up and didn't get a single comment i was worried they weren't liked... *swollows* Â @Isiah: thanks man to be honest this idea of mine actually had some people i know go into a rules and fluff arguement over the possiblity of this occuring, *shrugs* I would think its not a permanment 'infiltration' just something to mess around on a battlefield I imagine the real DA would quickly recognise something is off :D *laughs* but thank you as i said before doing this up has given me thoughts of doing up all the rest of the Dark Angels in the box set like this if I do that I'll nearly have a full mini army with 3 troops, 2 hqs, 3 elite, 1 fast attack, a possible dark apostale and an extra 'captain' to fiddle with *laughs* we'll see how i do it up. DavidKits
Greetings everyone who visits my little neck of the Forum! earlier today i arrived back home from a long and tiring drive back from the township of Chestermere were the wonderful Public Library and gaming groups were hosting a 40K tourny and the Black Library Expo first in canada from what I have been told. while there I hit up the library stockpile of books got some that i have been missing and wanted to get and a few others just for laughs, and others because they were in limited stock. While Present I shook hands with Dan Abnett, Graham McNeill, James Swallow, Gav Thorpe and our dear and faithful resident author A-D-B or Aaron Dembski-Bowden or as i have heard him... ahem 'lovingly referred to' 'da resident disgruntled(sp) Irishmen" a nickname I know he denies wholeheartedly but thats another story.(wanted to see Chris Wright and Nik Vincent but I missed my chance with how the timing worked out. *snaps fingers*) I brought with me some 'golden era' black library items including my 3 issues of the Index Astartes books and got most of the gang to sign at least a page and yes I got Aaron the awesome dude that he is to sign for the Night Lords :3 just felt fitting. I would tell more and even put up the Photo of me and Aaron I have but somehow I don't think i can... don't know for sure just got a hunch so i don't think I will, either way was a blast enjoyed meeting all the guys and as promised i bugged Aaron about doing his campaign *looks over* i know you will see this at point ... so *pokes Aaron like at the event* want to see more on that campaign.. i want to see your cool painted models! but onto what this forum is more towards and about I bring another picture of my collection of Models! sadly this is not an Alpha Legionnaire but in fact one of my eluisive Crimson Fists! one of my other Loyalist armies in fact one of my earlier ones alot of the models I have come a long way from since painting them and recently i just had the urge to sit down and do one up. I rather like the conversion I have done up and with my urge to want to do up a complete biker army for my White Scars this guy acted both as to fulfill my want to do up a new crimson fist, but also to try something different with the eye lenses as I experimented a little with OSL from the lens as well as tried a different way to paint up his axe. with how he turned out I think i maybe doing up another or something like it and begin working on that All bike white scars, but that will be after I finish doing up the last of my Alpha Legion from the DV box and maybe some other ideas, my hobby ADHD kicking in hard lately. either way enjoy and tell me what ya think! Crimson Fists Bike Mounted Captain as i said I experimented, i have never done OSL before or that power weapon effect so i need opinions, i was given some ideas on how and went with em, now for wargear this guy is kinda expensive but i still think his cool, if i remember right i have him as a captain, with a bike, relic blade, aux-grenade launcher, hellfire rounds, and artificer armour ;) something like that really expensive but he also looks really cool. well as least i think he does. recon0321
Great work! I need to start my alphas but can I ask how you did the WB's. I think I am going to paint a few of each legion BLACK CRUSADE anyone?

DavidKits
@recon0321: depends on which one that would change up the colors *laughs* as i said did a few different runs for em. but anyway my personal favorite are the most recently finished that would be my Word Bearers Chosen Termiantors, for them the red was Mecharite red. afterwards I did up a wash of Devlan Mud I believe it was (been a while may need to redo the work and get back after i make sure ;)) in the recesses, then did a highlight of blood red just inside that or on the edges of the armour, for the 'glowing' script on some of the models I did up the marks first with blood red here or there much like how you see most do writing on purity seals with 'squilly marks' then go over it with some blazing orange. i only have old paints i'm sorry so i'm only listing the names of them. either way hope it helps ^.^;; Â @darth Potato: thank you kindly both the OSL and the 'glow' on the axe was my first attempt at it ^.^;;; I don't know how well i did trying it on an axe is... kinda rough need a wet pallet i did it originally on a cermatic(sp) tile the local GW uses as paint pallet. glad you like em! Â @Kierdale: thanks for the comments on my thousand sons glad to see them get some love! *laughs* I do like the darker shade of blue as i didn't like the old books look of bright blue Thousand Sons *shrugs* as for my Ravenwing Imposter glad ya got a smile at hime I'm sorry I haven't updated the gallery lately I've been working on the other 4 members of the bike squad :3 Â Cheers all, Â David. DavidKits
Greetings brothers and Sisters of the B&C I'm back! with a few more pictures for you to look at! I'm very sorry for taking so long to get these new minituares finished please forgive me just I've had a very heckate time here in rl with work, and house work, and gaming tournments and loads and loads more that I haven't really got to sit down and work as hard as i can non stop on the models I have been working on. I have had the time about and hour or two a day to sit down and work on em and I hammered away at these 2 to get them both finished together, thankfully I finished both of them finally last night! *cheers myself on* I'm very proud of both models I put ALOT of detail into them *laughs* most likely more then what was needed for just line bikers i suppose as they aren't even ICs and i still have 2 more to do up to finish the whole squad but oh well! Now I do ask you understand one thing, for some weird all reason when i took photos of these guys the flash made em look like they ... um <.< sparkle for some reason or at least have white spots from something now if you see them in normal light this doesn't happen but i don't know if its just how i painted them the flash or what just they have that weird effect. *shrugs* anywho onto the pictures of 2 more of my Imposter Ravenwing! Imposter Number 2: This guy i see as regularally getting confused for the unit champion which is kinda fitting considering the model but he is in fact NOT the champion he is the second to the unit my Biker hasn't been built yet but i got the spare parts sitting around from a box of RW bikers i picked up a while ago and i'm gonna give the champ a power weapon I just don't know if at this time to give him a Sword or an Axe for the power weapon ^.^;; please give me your advise and what you would choose! thanks p.s. i tried painting on the bottom side of each of the purity seals a star of chaos, they didn't all turn out that well and the photo didn't get a too good of a shot so see Imposter 3 for a better shot of the chaos stars I'm refering too. Imposter Number 3: plasma Specialist! And here is the 3rd of the Unit of 5 using the DV bikers as a base. the Plasma Gun specialist of the team, I still have a Melta biker to build up and i like to think in a way that the melta gunner and the plasma guy have a bit of a friendly rivallary between one another, over who will get the bigger and best kill. either way this guy was alot of fun to do up I love how my plasma coils turned out on this guy and the little freehand hydra mark on the back of his head really made me smile when i finished it :3 cheers. Biker gang photo: here is all 3 of them so far finished up did a little bit of a distance shot so you can get an idea of how they look from a short distance away together in a group, it still makes me laugh the people who look at em and ask me why i have Ravenwing in my chaos army and when i tell i don't and they don't believe me till they look closer makes me chuckle. Anywho I got 2 more to make up and I'll be working on them soon I can hope it won't take as long between posts to finish up the last 2 but! *shrugs* depends on how life treats me I suppose, if you care to see more anywhere just pass me a question and I'll take the photo as soon as i can and all. Cheers, DavidKits.

DavidKits
Greetings Brothers and Sisters of Chaos... ahem i mean the Forums, once more this crazy fox has returned with more pictures this time of my finally finished Hellbrute! As always he is done up in my Alpha Legion Colors though when i look back on it *laughs* I think I should have done him in my word Bearers colors just because my army list i'm wanting for my Legionnaires doesn't have a hellbrute but oh well! for the collection! *muahahahas!* now.. I have to admit to you all this is the first time I've ever worked with greenstuff that wasn't for gap filling. as I armed my Hellbrute with a Heavy Bolter instead of a Multi-melta as was on the sprue I had to merge it to the arm and I tried hard but i still feel i didn't do overly great but hey I tried! so um.. please don't rip me out to much on how bad the green stuffing looks @.@ Also, I didn't do up a collab piece this time around of all the different parts as I felt I would be cutting out to much so here these pics are full size only and i do hope they aren't to damn big and if they are I'll work on srinking em and stuff and reposting em at a smaller size, also all these pics are pretty much close ups in a way so if you want a shot of the whole thing in one go just let me know i'll see what i can do. Anyway Enjoy my Hellbrute and please give me your thoughts :3 Front: Left side(top of power fist): Right Side(heavy bolter): Rear: well there you all go! enjoy ^.^;;
Wicced
man that brute is awesome :P Â i love the choice of color and the scales are spot on! Â the green stuff on the bolter doesn't look that bad, my only critique would be the barrels. they look a little askew, but that my be the picture...
chaplainmikey
Your Helbrute is fantastic and the scaled patterns definitley suit the large armour panels well. The only thing i'd say that could be better is the grey highlights on the black. At the moment they are quite large and a little flat but with perhaps a further highlight of a lighter shade they would have some more depth and 'pop' a little more. Â Other than that though he looks awesome and i'm sure he makes for a very cool centerpiece for your Alpha's. Â Mike. Â P.S. Love the Word Bearers. especially the Prince and the Dread! :)
DavidKits
@wiccad: aye i have noticed the bolters are a bit... odd but the only way i can think of fixing em is shaving off the whole barrel down to just under the targeter lens and put the gargoyle(sp) heads in there place *shrugs* :/ but thank you for liking em. Â @chaplianmikey: thank you I'm really glad to hear it when people enjoy how they look. I do agree on the grey part I was trying to go with the idea that the brighter grey was to reflect raised muscle mass but with that huge ... awkwardly flat section on the back (still personally think the back was rushed a little compared to the front but thats me) I have been considering turning the whole part that lighter grey and then try a little brighter ones here or there but i don't know if that would make it worse or better ^.^;;; and thanks for liking my word bearers! glad to know they are getting some love ;) speaking they aren't as great as my more recent stuff ^.^;;
Firepower
Ohhh, neat! Very nicely done Hellbrute. Â Keeping the flesh grayscale did a lot to help the blues and greens pop. Although the way the flesh and guns are the the same tone seems a bit bland. I think the bolters might look cooler in the blue-green.
DavidKits
@firepower: hmmm didn't think of that. thanks for the idea i'll think it over and see about changing it *rubs my chin and thinks*
