Check the bodies of the ones I killed, they will all have the mark. Ahh I see, the bodies have gone. Their servants, this cult of Lernaean as they call themselves, they are everywhere. Yes, they are the servants, their tools for accessing society, their keys to our world. I don't know how long they have been here, plotting this, I don't know if I am the first to have stumbled on their lair, underneath Primus hive. All I know is they sent their servants after me, to keep me silent. Not that it matters, we cant stop them, I can hear the thunder, the thunder their guns make. They come, the gods, the gods marked with a Hydra Audio fragment found in the wreckage of Primus Hive on the now destroyed Imperial Hive World Abraxxorr IV OK so this is my first WIP log, my first attempt at a 40K army, and that above was my first attempt at home written fluff. For a long time I have planned to do a Chaos Space Marine army, and off all the legions and warbands the one I really like is the Alpha Legion. Having read all the background material I can such as Legion, The Serpent Beneath, and some short stories from The Hammer and Bolter, I have came up with an image for the warband. So just to lay it out, my Alpha Legion are not loyalists pretending to be Chaos Space marines (although they are happy to be Chaos Space Marines pretending to be loyalists), in general they see the Gods as a tool, although there are those who worship them if they believe it will give them an edge, and the same goes for mutation and possession. On happens if they believe it will help them win. The aesthetic I am going for is somewhere between loyalist and the current range of CSM. I'm not sure where the new range will come in yet, I will probably wait and see what happens with the new codex and adapt where I can. I am still working in overall fluff, I have an idea that the whole force represents a company from before the heresy that has since split into smaller cells which have developed their own styles etc which come back together for larger operations. I don't have lodes of time to model or paint, so instead of rushing and ending up with models I am unhappy with I will take time to get things right. Not that I'm expecting to paint Golden Demon standard or anything, but I just want to look at my models and go 'yeah, there cool'. So enough babbling, here's some pictures. The first WIP,an Aspiring Champion, is almost complete, but I am not sure no what color to paint the loincloth and cape ( the large back area in these woeful pictures. Jamafore Posted September 20, 2012 Share Posted September 20, 2012 the last pic, I think the reason he looks 'odd' to you is the right leg. maybe try straightening it a bit? Figure most of his weight will be on that leg with the other one on the rock. Just a thought. As for the cape and loincloth, a nice dark tan would probably work. Nice work.
