Jacobius
Apart from the Sternguard Veteran with the bolter and powerfist located here, does anyone know of any other examples of the newest version of power armour? -J- Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/261501-mark-viii-errant-power-armour/ Share on other sites
Ramell
There's a torso front in the Tactical Squad equipment sprue. Other than that, I don't know. Phoros
Other than those, you can't get it. Forge World says that they won't do it, because it's too similar to Mk7, which is a real pity - Goodwin-style Mk8 with the alternate head, legs, backpack and gauntlets as well as the chestplate would be brilliant, particularly since they're doing Minotaurs in the next IA. Rider-75
That's not a full mk8 suit either. The mk8 has ball joints at the ankles with the greave shaped around them at the bottom. I'll see if I can link a picture from somewhere.... EDIT: you can see the joints clearly on the left image. http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a118/Gagoc/Sources/GW_Mk8s.jpg EDITED EDIT: also note the narrower, shallower air grill to allow the helmet to fit behind the neck guard. lhg033
"aren't you a little short to be a space marine" might just be my age but i thought there was a mk8 armour model that didnt have the arms attached back in the depths od 2nd edition? lhg033
thinking about it, some of the blood angels sanguinary guard bits might pass for mk8 - at least on the collared torsos side of things Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/261501-mark-viii-errant-power-armour/#findComment-3182169 Share on other sites
Leonaides
might just be my age but i thought there was a mk8 armour model that didnt have the arms attached back in the depths od 2nd edition? There was - I have 3 of them in one of my tac squads. Made with the old slightly poisonous lead... edit - Rider-75, are you sure if thats a real GW model? those forearms look a bit squiffy to me but the main body is a spitting image of my marines... reckoning
As a side note, it really shouldnt be too difficult to fashion some Mk8 out of preexisting armor mks. Just a thought. Hezrou
there is a torso and legs metal casting about. I have used a couple in my space wolves. Rider-75
It is genuine: http://www.solegends.com/citcat911/c2007smarmourvariants.jpg It only required a Bolter, shoulder pads and backpack. You can just make out the knobble for the bottom of the gun grip in his right hand. There was indeed an armless cast as well that used the (then) new mk7 arms and Bolter and backpack sprues too Edit: knew I'd find it somewhere..... http://www.solegends.com/citcat9x3/c92395marines-02.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/261501-mark-viii-errant-power-armour/#findComment-3182930 Share on other sites
Leonaides
Ah - wasnt sure but that clears that up (and also adds that the mk VIII has elongated vambraces covering the back of the wrist compared to the mk VI and VII)... araekyus
There is another, rare variant that really did not see much release. Seen here: mkVIIIv3 I'm lucky enough to own three of them (hooray for ebay). Now if I could find some more.... madscuzzy
the final thing about mk8 is that the helmet has ears.... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/261501-mark-viii-errant-power-armour/#findComment-3187843 Share on other sites
Razblood
Mk VIII Vambraces could be represented by Mk IV arms, as they are almost the same design. The legs are easy to make, just carve the inside ankle of a set of Mk VII legs and then add a small ball of GS, job done :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/261501-mark-viii-errant-power-armour/#findComment-3192688 Share on other sites
