nurgling6688
Hey everyone, I recently got my hands on the new plastic Plaguebearers and painted one up to match my current demon scheme. Four years have passed since I started my demons so my painting skills have improved a bit. I still consider this guy gaming quality. I would have pushed him a lot more for a display piece. Although it does serve as a study for a Golden Demon idea I have in mind. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i317/tylerrox6688/plaguebearernew5_zps26511c49.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i317/tylerrox6688/plaguebearernew_zps6d8a4f2e.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i317/tylerrox6688/plaguebearernew4_zpsf1f2dc79.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i317/tylerrox6688/plaguebearernew3_zps0a10322b.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i317/tylerrox6688/plaguebearernew2_zps8bd2a191.jpg Here's a picture of some of my older demons to compare. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i317/tylerrox6688/plaguebearer.jpg And the Deathguard, also mostly from 4ish years ago, that they go with. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i317/tylerrox6688/terminator1.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i317/tylerrox6688/dreadnought.jpg Comments and crit welcome and you can vote for him on CMoN here. (also, anyone have any good tips for removing static grass? I want to make my armies bases look like the new guy's) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/261600-demons-for-my-deathguard/ Share on other sites
Brother Ambroz
Very nice. I like the new painting scheme a bit better too. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/261600-demons-for-my-deathguard/#findComment-3183629 Share on other sites
Killax
The new one looks fantastic, but your older stuff also is very good looking! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/261600-demons-for-my-deathguard/#findComment-3183861 Share on other sites
Urauloth
That's the best plaguebearer I've ever seen. Fantastic use of washes for the puss and ...gross fluids. ew. How did you paint the skin? (i'm guessing the new pallid wytch flesh was involved?) I'm planning a unit of these grody dudes for my own CSM warband and I'd love to be able to make them look that unhealthy. Durus
Great scheme on the Plaguebearer. I like it! [...](also, anyone have any good tips for removing static grass? I want to make my armies bases look like the new guy's) That's an interesting question :geek: The only thing I can think of, is to try and melt it off with acetone or something like that. Depending on the glue you used for the grass and sand it might melt that as well or ...not. :) In any case you'd have to repaint the bases and be careful not to kill your minis paintjob or melt the base as well. Cypher 102
If you applied the static grass with PVA glue, Elmer's, white, wood, carpenter's, or whatever you call it glue then you can just soak it loose with warm water. nurgling6688
Thanks for the kind replies everyone. I am planning on making a step by step guide when I paint the next one. I ended up just scraping off most of the grass with an excto knife and gluing sand over top. Shaun Carlin
This guy looks amazing a hell of a lot better than the eavy metal versions that look like ghost busters ghosts Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/261600-demons-for-my-deathguard/#findComment-3185784 Share on other sites

smallvictory
Geez, whats up with all the beautiful Nurgly goodness people are posting up lately, someone with your talent needs a little "change". Seriously, good stuff here, the inks/washes you're using over the pale flesh tones are subtle and noticable at the same time. Can't wait for the how to.
