so ive signed up to a doubles event in november (or will as soon as the tickets come up for sale)

and im going to run my scout sisters army.

i know its not board appropriate to discuss my non-PA allies, but it may decide what tweeks need to be made to my own list. (that being said if mods want to edit, then please do so)

Lord commissar pf 85

vet squad 3 x flamer chimera 140

vet squad 3 x g launcher chimera 140

vendetta 130

vendetta 130

leman russ h/bolter sponsons 170

leman russ h/bolter sponsons, las cannon 170

980

so i was thinking of taking the following:

Celestine

10 seraphim, 2x2 hand flamer, eviscerator

2 x 10 SoB, dual meltagun, rhino

2 x 10 retributors, 4 HB

995

any advice from my fellow board members, does my list need tweeking?.

ive never been to a tournament with anything other than my SM scouts, and i always knew i wasnt going to win (just doing the best i could)

I don't like that Guard list, but your Sisters look fine, lol. You've got all the weapons you need, the only alteration I'd make is to slap some melta bombs on a Sister Superior using those last 5 points (assuming it's a 1k/player tournament).

Just don't get trapped into thinking Seraphim are an assaulty unit these days.

figured id flame, charge, hold, then hit and run... rinse repeat. celestine should be able to hold her own in challenges for the most part.

do you guys think my counts as SoB army will be acceptable for a tourney, i should probably contact them right?

Yeah, you should always ask ahead of time for things like that.

It's the one disguised as a Scouts army, right? :tu:

yip, for the most part its easy to follow, but i worry about cassius as celestine for true WYSIWYG, in 5th it was fine he had a combi-flamer and power weapon, but now 6th has distinguished between PWs i can see an argument against it

ive also got home made rhinos, more like troops trucks built out of plasticard ontop of chasis' from ork trukks

ok so my team mate is considering running BA along side the SoB

250 - Mephiston, Lord of cheese....

105 - Assault squad, flamer

55 - las plas razor back

105 - Assault squad, flamer

55 - las plas razor back

200 - Sky hammer Storm raven, twin lascannon, twin multi melta, 4 x bloodstrike missiles

230 - Dakka Storm raven, twin assault cannon, twin multi melta, hurricane bolters, 4 x bloodstrike missiles

im thinking the flyers will be a nice addition, and mephy is awesome, but mephy and celestine together should be evil

You'd have to double check the allies rules, with the Battle Brothers or not things and all that. Personally I'd just charge your Seraphim/Celestine combo into the same fights as Mephiston (specially since I don't think he's an IC, and I can't remember the 6th ed rules about joining an IC to a single model, assuming you're allowed to based on types of allies). I wouldn't have a problem with a scouts looking SOB army in something I ran, but best to check with the Organizer just in case.

yeah BA and SoB arent battle brothers allies, so no joining Ics to units and the like, although mephy isnt an IC anyway.

the TO (a games store) has a facebook page that im signed up to and one of the regualrs has a grots counts as eldar army.

if thats accepted i shouldnt have too many issues, but ill check just in case

lol, that is a little more extreme.

Your teammate has gone for all-out attack, so you should probably gear your BSS more towards objective holding... or pray to the Emperor that you always play Big Guns Never Tire, in which Retributors are goddesses.

sorry Miko missed this post a while back..

figured id update with my progress.. im hoping to have the army completed but ive still got lots of work ahead, ill post some pics later this week, as long as you chaps/chapesses dont mind a bit of ultramarine blue :)

my ally and i have played a couple of practice games, he uses his RAS as backliners getting lascannon shots off and grabbing objectives.

its frees my battle sisters squads to take point and absorb the first hits.

we ran the seraphim and mephy behind the SOB rhinos and it kept fire away from them for a turn.. turn 2 the sisters can fire meltaguns at anything big metal and menacing, whilst the jump pack dudes jump over thier heads and flame/charge anything available.

the seraphim have proven to be awesome, with 4 hand flamers, heavy flamer and all those pistol shots, with a 3+ with re-roll faith attempt is an evil combo.

played a quickie 1k against a nid player the other day,

he took 2 units of 20 hormaguants, a winged tyrant and a flying harpy with 3 ravenors.

i tore him up, the seraphim flamed the first unit of gaunts, wiping out all twenty, next turn his other squad fails his charge, and i move up and flame all twenty of those too. meltaguns took out the tyrant in one turn, and the ravenors were beaten in combat by superior numbers.

poor fella didnt stand a chance.

Just as reference I did a doubles a couple of weeks ago with a BA partner. List was :

Meph

Libby dread

Storm raven

2x 5man marine in las/plas razorback

celestine

10 seraphim 2x hf , SS w/ PS

2x BSS with 2x meltagun in rhinos

2x Exorcists

Did fairly well, 3rd place for battle points out of 21.Ran celestine as a meat shield for meph and dread. Sera DS every game and melted face. Pushed up with rhinos/ backs and blocked movement. Celestine even took down a wraithlord without taking a wound ! The exorcists were half useless due to rolls but took alot of shooting attention.

For seraphim deepstriking I use the 6" rule. I create a circle around the drop zone that gives me 6" radius around the first model that is free of possible bad things. Majority of the time they will land and blast a good chunk out of something close by even if the flamers are far away. As for the two squads I have found they get killed quite easily and for the tournament I play in we are only allowed 1 fast attack slot each and one floating. Also I have used the seraphim deployed normally before and usually they get pasted before getting to something juicy.
