Circus Nurgling
Hey all, I'm starting to make some solid progress on my GK army, and I'm almost ready to prime my Redeemer (complete with lots of parts from FW!). Thing is, I got the "Land Raider Inquisition" doors and ramp from someone on ebay... no, not from Hong Kong, but I'm guessing the person I bought it from did. The color of the resin, and the smell of it when I cut into it, is all wrong. That said, I went ahead and put it on, and it still looks a bit plain to me, so I'll probably nix the doors, or convert them drastically. The ramp is glued into place, so I don't want to mess with removing that. Ok, now that my rant/backstory is done, I went in search of inspiration to put on the doors. I really love the Grey Knights Land Raider doors, and that they come from the cover of Ravenor, but I'd like to know what other possibilities there are. I found this: http://images.wikia.com/warhammer40k/image...3d/Rosettes.jpg And obviously recognize the top two from the Ravenor covers (and it looks like the one in the upper right is an adaptation of Adeptus Ministorum?). What are the bottom two from? I'm especially liking the lower left one, since I'm running purifiers. Does anyone have any more Rosette pics? Or Inquisition and Grey Knight symbolism and iconography? These are all I could find that would be on a par with what FW puts out, as a topic for sprucing up my Redeemers. Circus Nurgling
Well I take it from the silence that no one has any further information on this and, after much scouring, neither do I... other than the rosette is a personal symbol used by an inquisitor as an encoded badge of sorts. This image was taken from "The Inquisition" illustrated book from BL in 2007(?), and no further information was gleamed from there, either, after having a flip through it. Looks of inspirational illustrations, though, so I'm better off than when I started the journey. Also, it has made me lean towards a theme for my force, as well. Ordo Sepulturum. Since my Nurgle worshiping army is one of those responsible for the rise in Plague Zombie epidemics, it would only make sense that my Grey Knights would fall under an Inquisitor of that ordo. I'm also leaning heavily towards that nifty purifying flame rosette to decorate the doors of my land raiders, and since they are redeemers that will be filled with Purifiers most of the time, it would fit the theme perfectly. The journey is just beginning, but I'm seeing some great signs already! Olis
I'll throw in my tuppence while I'm here - one of the rosettes you have depicted, although I can't remember which, is used when an Inquisitor is 'off the grid' and is operating under a 'rogue' status, iirc. I can't offer any more info atm, I'm afraid. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/261639-inquisitorial-rosettes/#findComment-3185409 Share on other sites
Brother Tyler
I drew up a rosette for my own DIY Inquisitor, shown at left. If you're curious (and why wouldn't you be?) you can see his story here (in the Dark Angels forum!?!?!? :P ) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/261639-inquisitorial-rosettes/#findComment-3185422 Share on other sites
