Cleaning the dust off

I use a dry brush (not a drybrush, mind you). One of the big tank brushes from about ten years ago does a reasonable job. If you have any flat surfaces that needs more attention than that a barely damp cloth will work fine. I doubt you'll need water to the point where you'd need to worry about wiping paint off.

Once the paints dry it should be totally waterproof, so it shouldn't be an issue. (assuming you're using acrylics)

If you need to dust them then use a big make-up/blusher brush, I nicked one from my daughter. Or one of those lens cleaners with the puffy air-thing that photographers use. although they tend to have firmer bristles.
