Bearingtheword
Was asked about this yesterday and I didn't have an answer, so I thought I'd bring it to the brethren for their thoughts: Which of our units can use two pistols and which pistols or combination of pistols are considered legal? Thoughts? Thanks! ~BtW Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/261701-gunslinger/ Share on other sites

Rift Blade
With the FAQ concerning Wolf Scouts I beleive the list is Wolf Guard, Lone Wolves & up t o 2 Wolf Scouts in a Wolf Scout pack. Lone Wolves & Wolf Guard can have bolt pistol & plasma pistol or dual plasma pistols or Bolt pistols. The 2 Wolf Scouts in a pack may have a bolt pistol & a plasma pistol. Double check that 'cause I could be wrong. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/261701-gunslinger/#findComment-3185730 Share on other sites

Growler67
No option for SkyClaws? That would be EPIC with a dual BP wielding SW dropping out of the sky directly into an assault. Guest Drunk Guardian
Wolf Guard Battle Leader on Thunderwolf. Not quite a Thunderlord... but waaaaaay cheaper, mobile, retains rending, and could act as a highly mobile skirmisher. Bearingtheword
What about Grey hunters? Not an option? Sadly no. The closest Grey Hunters can get is a Bolter in one hand and a Bolt Pistol in the other, which looks cool but doesn't qualify for the "gunslinger" rule. I had modeled two of mine that way in the excitement over the new rule and now am going to have to go back and change them ;( ~BtW Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/261701-gunslinger/#findComment-3186725 Share on other sites

Deathscream
You can also take a Lone Wolf with twin plasma pistols. Eternal Warrior, Feel no Pain and other goodies all wrapped up in a twin plasma toting unit that doesn't concede a victory point when killed, but needs to be dealt with. skeletoro
Gotta wonder though, whether 1 bolt pistol and 1 plasma pistol might be in some ways better. More wounds and melee attacks per point spent, and the bolt pistol still does something, even if it's not nearly as good as a plasma pistol. There are a lot more models that can do BP/PP than can do 2X PP. DanPesci
ive run this unit the last 2 games - wolf priest - P.Pistol, Saga of the hunter, M.Bombs WGPL - P.Pistolx2, MotW Grey Hunters x10 - 2xPlasma, Wulfen, Banner, P.Fist I usually dont bother with the powerfist in my grey hunter units, but take one in this as its my 'HQ' unit and lacks some high strength AP2. Great fun to use, hilarious number of plasma shots upon outflanking (usually where you want cos of acute senses), and a high number of close combat attacks cos of the two wulfen. Wouldn't it be better off having Melta rather than Plasma so you can fire special weapon and assault? I know you can't assault on the turn you come on but spending points on 2x wulfen basically says you want to be in combat with the unit. If you are firing plasma you're not assaulting. If you are firing plasma you're not assaulting. 10X S7 shots before the second turn charge vs 6X S7 + 4X S8 isn't really a significant difference against Infantry, until you factor in the possibility of getting charged. The extra Overwatch shots from the Plasmaguns would be better than from the Meltaguns. Good point. :D I was thinking of rear ending tanks but the MotW makes the unit geared up to take on troops rather than tanks. If the unit didn't have MotW in it I'd go for the melta, targeting tanks especially with the melta bomb and power fist in the unit. If the unit is only really going after troops then maybe it's worth saving points and having a power axe? Still working out what's worth taking myself. skeletoro
Yeah, I really don't think the power fist is worth it. It does help vs. vehicles and monstrous creatures, but vs practically everything else, it's actually worse than a power axe, at 10 points more expensive!
