The Emperor's Legion chapter

Alright so I have a bunch of friends who have properly motivated (and by that I mean forcing me to) fully paint my army to play with them. So here is my go.

This is my latest chapter that I fell in love with the concept of. The Emperor's Legion (chapter name is workable). They are a BA successor. It is a roman legion symbolic chapter. In that I mean there will be a lot of Roman legion references. Like the chapter master will hold the title of Caesar and his personal guard are the Praetorians. So here are the first four of the praetorians:

fully painted

He is shiny because I tried some polyurethane spray and I don't like how it turned out. But I love the power weapon effect I came up with.

Can't find the fifth one right now....he's lost somewhere in this dormroom....

And my tactical trooper that is my paint scheme test. Still a PiP but I really love how it is so far.

The latter models are much better. Details matter. Furthermore, remember: a good wash is your friend -either Nuln Oil or Argax Earthshade (esp wrt the red/gold). Either would add shading and depth. You should also look at adding some small sharp highlights (esp. to the black, otherwise the model looks incomplete). Lastly, rather use 2-3 thinned layers of paint rather than one thick coat. You'll thank yourself in a few years when you look back at your army.

After all, these models cost plenty, you might as well paint them to the best standard you can.

...oh, one last thing (I know you're not finished) but nice basing really makes a model stand out.
