Zerib's Scythes

I have been interested in Scythes of the Emperor now for a while. Finally I have started working on them and I will be logging my progress. Any tips, advice or rude remarks would be appreciated. All paints are from Game Color and washes from the Citadel line unless specified other wise.

First up is what I will be using as a Sternguard Sargent or as a count as Pedro until I come up with something else. First I primed the model white, followed by a mix of 3 to 1 Black to Cold Grey on the all except the chest and back which were painted with Gold Yellow.

Next was a wash of Nuln Oil over the whole model.

After this I dry brushed and highlighted with a slightly brighter yellow and Moon Yellow. I noticed that the labels for some of my older paints have rubbed off and I can not tell what the names or numbers are for these paints, I apologize. I also dry brushed with Cold Grey, I realize that it is a little too much and I will hope to curb this on later models.

I then did a wash of Devlan Mud over the yellow to give it a burnished and aged look. At this stage much of the model has been completed and I started on the detail work such as the purity seal, holster and such.

With things coming together I finished by doing some touch ups and trying to catch anything I missed.

Well there is one down, I will be working on my Sternguard and scouts next. I appreciate the taking of time to go through this. Now I have to start working on my free hand to paint the Scythe's chapter symbol and I really don't want to. It is rather intimidating.
