millest
try here: http://millests.blogspot.com/2010/10/hobby...ulding-and.html ideal for casting your own pads and own images, some people frown on casting GW images so please treat that as a guide to doing your own cheers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/261873-mass-producing-shoulder-pad-chapter-badges/#findComment-3188008 Share on other sites
War Angel
my google search actualy found this for me shortly after i posted this question, and im glad you linked it because i would like to ask you a few questions about what you did. in step 10 you say to take an old brush and cover the original GS that was pressed into the mold with more greenstuff. is the brush significant for this? and what is the purpose of adding more GS to the cast? my second question is whats a good way to trim the back of the icon? acctualy i think the problem is i have too many little things like wings shooting off from the main body that make it hard to trim it. finaly, how much lubrication do you use? millest
step ten is just to add a touch more GS in case you havent included enough, i found initailly i wasnt judging it right so was coming up short, you could quite easliy push it in but i found using the end (not the bristles) was easier, personally i might edit the article to remove that bit. i found sharp knives or a fine file did the job adequately. basically you want it wet all over but not dripping, as long as it has a layer it is think enough anything else just ask mate millest Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/261873-mass-producing-shoulder-pad-chapter-badges/#findComment-3188042 Share on other sites

millest
article editted :) i didnt get round to ever doing the resin casts of the 5, mainly because i got diverted by IG and havent touched marines much for a very long time, all ive done is the odd model or some commissions for people. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/261873-mass-producing-shoulder-pad-chapter-badges/#findComment-3188055 Share on other sites
War Angel
thats a sad end to this. the cast i made yesterday has an issue of fitting on the shoulder though, its slightly raised because i couldnt trim off enough of the back. i think if i adjust my icon so that theres a circle around eagle, ill have something holding it together to allow me to cut it out better. then perhaps i can just the circle off? that might work better.
