Cheers mate, I was thinking that too. I know that sergeants and officers had white on their plates in places so I think I'm going to embellish them a bit. Im currently giving an Emperors Champion a Dettol bath to use as a commander so I will try out some white details on him. : )

Thanks mate, much appreciated : ). The purple is really straight forward. So straightforward I was able to fit the recipe into a tweet.

 

the purple was a base of naggaroth night followed by a layer or 2 of xereus purple. Highlight with a 50/50 xereus purple and ushabti bone.

Techmarine alert!!

 

On my travels through Wales recently I popped into GW Swansea and picked up a Warpsmith. I saw an Iron Hands chaplain in the cabinet they had converted using the Warpsmith and thought "BAM!! Theres my Emperors Children techmarine."

Thanks guys, I gotta say, for a Chaos Marine there is very little that needs doing to make him a loyalist. I only wish I could source a metal Techmarine servo-harness for him.

I went through the entire thread and I'm in awe!!! Excellent work on both the Legions - I'm very impressed by both your take on the sea green and of your ability to make purple look no-nonsense hard! I also think you rmeasured tear and wear on the armour looks exactly the part!

 

Now that you are combining the best of both worlds, you can get your hands on the newly arrived Justaerin? *crosses fingers and prays really hard*

Cheers, nah cutting of any traitorous bits was easy. The only really chaosy bits were the stacks on the back and the star. All the tubes and things come seperate from the body which made life a lot simpler.

Yeah I was a bit daunted at first but once I had a proper look I knew it wouldn't be too hard.

 

I made up a test model the other day and have only just got round to painting it. He's an EC commander of some description, but I was watching Carry on Cleo on Christmas day, and I saw Sid James uniform and thought, perfect, I'll give it go. Not too impressed with how he's turned out, I want to redo the helmet and highlight the plasma coils a bit more. I like the scheme though but next time I want a smoother finish I think.

Yup, in fact now I've finished it. I don't know why but I really enjoy painting up Contemptors. Much more than regular dreads.

I think the presentaion of your models would profit enormously by making better pictures . Im not an expert, but Im sure someone on here can give you great hints that could help to improve.

in the tutorial section kurgan linked a cheap way to make a light box that helps with pics 100% might help you out so we can see sharper pics and it even works if your using an iphone for pics. might give it a shot
