Olis
At the moment I feel Perturabo and the Khan have been neglected so far, what with very little of them or their legions being represented in the HH series so far. Wade Garrett
Mortarion and the Death Guard. We got one book about some renegade, not much about the Legion proper. yhta
yep the death guard. no only in novels but the heresy inseft. for what we know:he coudnt kill is aboptive father, side with horus and his legion is stuck in warp storm and field the worst, pain, ever thanks to nurlge. then goes to terra. do something in the battle and then he retreats. the fact that he do nothing except lose with draigo tell you something. and before the heresy i will say dorn. i meant he has one of the worst in the battle of terra. he fail to stay wit his father against his enemy(who is forme closed brother) and se the remiants. then he argued with guillman, almost prove another battle, was troll so hard by perturabo in the iron cage that the chaos god made him a deamon prince and for last aperenly he dies against abbadon. the fact that now have a bad moment against curze and argue with sigsimund who was almost a son from him. really a unluck men Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/261880-under-dogs/#findComment-3188311 Share on other sites
Circus Nurgling
Going to have to go with Mortarion as well. He got what? One battle scene where he slew some xenos with his lantern? After that he seemed like sort of a character that wasn't doing much. No lines to speak of. No eventful scenes. Just seemed like he just went along with everything for no reason at all. I would have liked to know the reason that Mortarion sided with Horus, from his perspective. While I liked Garro's character, I would have liked a story that had more to do with the heros. You know, Tyhon/Typhus and Mortarion. When I read a story that I've been following for years, I'd like for it to focus on the main characters of said story. They took the main characters and made them ancillary characters. Ubermensch Commander
Salamanders. Absolutely no love. A few bit parts, one short story, but nothing about the Legion and its Primarch. The other dead guy, Manus, got a series of short stories in The Primarchs and more screen time in Fulgrim. Other than that, yes, Mortarion and the Khan could use some focus. Olis
and which do you feel were neglected Isn't a feeling of neglect a major plot point in the Horus Heresy? It's certainly a theme when it comes to interactions between the Primarchs and the Emperor. Something like "The Butcher's Nails" for Death Guard, featuring Typhon and Mortarion. Or something featuring Mortarion and the Death Shroud. Hell put it as a LE hardback in Black Library, I'll pay good money for it. E.G.J.
Neglected may be a strong word as it seems each will eventually get his turn. So far though, there has been precious little of the Khan, Perturabo, and Vulkan. Mortarion did get a wee speech in Thousand Sons and FotE was technically about the Death Guard, albeit from the perspective of a lone loyalist one. Another one that has gotten little face-time surprisingly is Dorn and the Fists. Sure, Dorn has appeared as a character in a number of books, but only peripherally. There's the odd short story too, but he like the aforementioned primarchs, has technically not received that much love either. Vulkan and Sanguinius are, I think, the very last holdovers from the Era of Reservation, where authors could reserve something based on their 40K work. Incidentally, I've never done this with Curze. Brother Sergeant Scarus
What primarchs do you feel were given the main role treatment and which do you feel were neglected. DISCUUS! In terms of 'air time' - Perturabo, Khan and Mortarion. But especially the Khan (I know brotherhood of the storm is coming). Although when I first read the topic I thought you meant neglect from the Emperor :tu: I'd love to see a full book about Kurze and the Night Lords (the more Sevatar the better!) but that's personal preference. I do really want to know what happened to Vulkan on Istvaan though.... mysteriousmaskedmystery
the worst thing about the salamanders compared to other chapters with very little on them, is he's dead! unless there is an audio drama i don't know about with him in it, or they go way back in the time line for him, he's pretty much out of the story with nothing on him. KnightCommander_Almaric
And he cant be that MIA as well, as come the end of Heresy he takes part in the discussions around implmeneting the Codex amendments into the Legions. Wrath of Terra
I think Perturabo has been very hard done by in how he's not got much attention, same with the Iron Warriors. In a way it's kind of fitting considering his background and how him and the legion did a lot of the dog-work and got left out of all the credit giving. Just like that bit of the background where Russ, Perturabo and another primarch were all fighting together and Perturabo plotted out the firing patterns that lead to victory and in the official histories he only got remembered as, something like, "the friend who helped" or some such. Appropriate but crap on him. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/261880-under-dogs/#findComment-3190036 Share on other sites
