Converting GD2012 Marine

Recommended Posts

Hi All!

I was lucky enough to purchase a Games Day Marine last weekend, and while cleaning him up today I started to get the urge to convert him. (I know, I should've bought two!)

Should I? Or just paint him up nice as he's limited addition?

If I do convert him, what should I do with him? I was thinking of removing the BA iconography, or maybe just removing the blood drops and replacing with skulls (winged skull chapter badge, anyone chapter already have that?).

Weapons wise I was thinking of adding lightining claws to the power fist, but unsure what other wearpon to give him, what would be the best loadout?

Helmet or bare head? What helmet or what bare head.

Looking for all opinions and comments please guys.

If I were you, I would keep him as he is, as he's your only one. If you get a hold of another one, then convert that one. That's what I did with the MkIII Boarding marine.

This. Theres a lot of potential but Id save that for the second one. Then again, since I wasnt around when the first model came out, nor am I a blood angel fan, Id buy this model simply for the conversion potential.

Now you know why I was after two.....but yeah, I'm with the other guys, keep it standard.

Cheers,

Jono

Haha, yeah I'm not bright enough to have bought an extra. I was always just going to get it to paint up and keep.

Now though I just keep looking at it and thinking it needs lightning claws on the power fist.

Jono What are you doing with your conversion one?

I say convert it! Limited edition models are the same as anyone elses limited edition model and I like UNIQUE models. I convert just about everything in some way, shape, or form. Not to mention, its my belief that the whole 'limited edition' model pitch is a complete scam anyways. My firm belief is that a good portion of the sellers you see offing these items at five times the original cost on ebay for years to come are in fact GW employees. Im a conspiracy theory kinda guy though, but meh. I just dont see how its still possible for me to go on ebay and find countless limited edition models still unopened with a seemingly endless supply.
