Circus Nurgling
Ok, unlike some, I do like the stormraven model. However, I've always loved the thunderhawk, and the Storm Eagle seems like a mini-thunderhawk to me and, since I'm not going to be able to afford a thunderhawk any time in the near future, the Storm Eagle is really catching my eye. Question is, how does it compare to the Stormraven in overall size. I know it's based on the same chassis/model, so is it viable/legal to proxy in a game? If anyone could tell me the length of the Stormraven that would probably help as well, I can't seem to find a solid number on the length for either ship. Zeratul29
The storm raven's chassis is about 5" long, the storm eagle is longer than that, Look at Chapter house, because they made an extension to make the stormraven longer, but after you buy that, you could be close to the price of the storm eagle. Circus Nurgling
Exactly. I wasn't overly impressed with the chapterhouse conversion, anyway. The Storm Eagle has an interior decorator, so I'll pay the extra bananas for that one. I've read in 1 place that the Eagle is 1.5" longer than the stormraven. I just can't verify it anywhere. Thanks for the number on the stormraven, though. I contacted a guy that's building an eagle, so hopefully I'll get a number on that eventually. Zeratul29
Yea, I wasnt impressed with chapterhouse either, the one I've seen using it needed a bunch of green stuff to get it together, hope your endeavor pays off Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/262041-stormraven-vs-storm-eagle-size-difference/#findComment-3191942 Share on other sites
Circus Nurgling
Thanks. I'll probably get it regardless, if for nothing else but a centerpiece model to round out my GK army. Not even close : Stormraven from GW ($66) + Chapterhouse kit ($20) = ~$90 w/shipping Storm Eagle from Forge World (£90) = ~$150 w/shipping I've not had any problems with Chapterhouse kit quality. I haven't bought the SR extension kit yet, but have purchased several Iconoclast kits (MkIIb sponsons & Proteus Heavy Bolter hull piece). Zeratul29
The Storm raven's actually 82.50 now and plus the the 20.50 conversion kit is 103 total, and the current exchange rate is 1.61 USD to 1 GBP so the Storm eagle costs about 145 so a 42 dollar difference before shipping Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/262041-stormraven-vs-storm-eagle-size-difference/#findComment-3192035 Share on other sites

I still pay ~$50 for a Stormraven kit from EBay, so it's a $95 savings for me.
