Plague Zombies

Recommended Posts

I converted Plagebearers for my zombies. Fairly easy, just hack off the horns on the head and then switch out the weapon hand for either a crypt ghoul or zombie one.

i've just got some old Rackham's Confrontation minis that I think they will look sweet as Plague Zombies, or even Nurgle CCW Cultists:

There's also another variant of the Halberdier that I couldn't find in the site as well. i've got a total of 23 minis with these 4 variants. What you guys think?

I got a box of 50 (£35 promotion box iirc) with 48 legs, 2 dragging torso ground mounts, 48 torsos and 2 spinal stumps about 10 of the toros and legs are the one piece enforcers (be warned these are a pain in the thumb to cut in half, but it's worth doing to most of them as the sculpts for the ghouls and the zombies themselves are very similar) the rest split more toward the ghoul side than the zombie i think, other than that you do seem to run short on the arms though but all in all they do the job whistlingW.gif

Maybe I'm a bit late, but I used mainly West Wind Productions zombies.

This is how mine look, with some GW bits thrown in.

Were I to buy more, I think I might rather get those Lesser Undead from Red Box Games, but they seem to lack in variation. Those super-cool zombies from Puppets Wars feels a bit too expensive... maybe. They fit right in with the w40k vibe though, but again variation seems to be in short supply. Just five different models...

The Mantic ones seems to give the best models if you consider what you pay, though they are distinctly lacking in sci-fi. That was the main draw for me with the West Wind ones. They have separate heads too, so it's fairly easy to switch stuff around. On the other hand, the heads are the biggest drawback, since they are definitely not as nice as many other zombie heads out there.

The military gear makes them fit well with the scifi setting instead of looking like fantasy zombies. To me it looks a bit weird if my cultists are all wearing clothes but my zombies are all naked.

Zombies on tv are seldom naked. tongue.png
