Cynic
Hi, I'm intending to paint up my Dark Vengeance CSMs as a contingent of the Oracles of Change warband from the previous Codex (and the cover of the Treacheries of the Space Marines collection). These will ally with my Thousand Sons to provide a variety of troop types, rather than just the Rubrics. They have a crimson/bright gold trim colour scheme but I'm undecided about how to paint the red armour. Should I work with a dark red working to a blood red highlight as they appear in Crimson Slaughter/Khorne Berzerker colours, or use a lighter red working up to a light orange highlight a la second edition Blood Angels? I mainly use the Vallejo model colour range. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/262337-painting-the-oracles-of-change-warband/ Share on other sites
vonny
I'd say that depends on how bright your rubrics are. They should be of about the same brightness, if possible, so one does not overpower the other. Kol Saresk
Every picture I've seen(except for the Treacheries anthology cover) seems to have a bit of orange to the red. Maybe Wazdaka Red with an Evil Suns Scarlet highlight since the Scarlet is a bit orange?
