Chapter Icon/Color Scheme

Recommended Posts

UPDATE:

My friend came over and while we were playing came up with a considerably better chapter symbol that he executed much better than I could have, so my new (And Old) requests are

1. Chapter Name help (Thanks to Brother Tyler and Messor for your help already)

2. Does the original white color scheme still work, and if not any suggestions on how to improve it?

CHAPTER ICON

Color Scheme (Always liked the pre-heresy Death guard scheme, so used white and blue instead of iron and green. Maybe needs some more color?)

Any comments/suggestions for names, or for improvements to the chapter icon/color scheme would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Faca na caveira, eh? (Sorry, its almost all I could think of when I looked at the icon)

Off the top of my head I got:

Regal Skulls

X's (Sons/Marines/Swords, etc) of the Crown

Pale/White Swords or Knights

and that's all I have for now. The scheme looks great but could maybe use a little more blue.

Frankly, quite a few names could be applied to that badge and color scheme.

The sword is a symbol of war and warriors while the crowned skull is symbolic of the Emperor as ruler. Alternately, the skull could be used as a symbol of death, devotion (to the Emperor), or even war. The sword could also be used as a symbol of vengeance, punishment, wrath, etc. These words don't necessarily have to be used in these symbolic meanings, though.

The obvious choices are to include "Imperial" or "Emperor's" in the name, but that's not something that is required. Likewise, any name that speaks to war and warriors seems obvious, but isn't necessary. For the sake of this exercise, though, I'll start off with some ideas in that vein.

Going with the most obvious:

  • Death Knights (an official Chapter, nothing really known about them)
  • Emperor's Swords (an official Chapter that was based on Bellicas, but has since been destroyed)
  • Emperor's Warbringers (an official Chapter, nothing really known about them; not to be confused with the just plain Warbringers)

Other names might include:

  • Avengers (an official Chapter, nothing really known about them)
  • Crusaders (an official Chapter, nothing really known about them)
  • Dictators (an official Chapter, nothing really known about them)
  • Exemplars (an official Chapter, nothing really known about them; not to be confused with the Marines Exemplar)
  • Imperial Harbingers (an official Chapter, nothing really known about them; not to be confused with the Harbingers)
  • Inceptors (one of the Primogenitors/2nd Founding Successors of the Ultramarines Legion; not much known about them other than an incident in which they were nearly destroyed by the Minotaurs)
  • Knights of Eternity (an official Chapter, nothing really known about them)
  • Knights Unyielding (an official Chapter, nothing really known about them other than that they are among the Astartes Praeses)

As you can see, all I've listed above are official Chapters for which all we've been given are names, perhaps with a tidbit of detail here and there, but largely undeveloped. You could easily apply similar logic in coming up with a completely DIY name.
