DarkAngelDelight
Does anyone know if Gold micron pens exist? they don't have to be sakura, but just that permanent '001/01' size gold inked pen. I can't find any about as sakura keeps popping up on google. I was just wondering if there are any other brands out there that do micron pens in different colours Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/262392-gold-micron-style-pens/ Share on other sites
Vourne
Finest gold pen I've been able to find is the Sakura Pen-Touch Extra-Fine: Here Here's a Link to a nice collection of gold and metallic pens. Although the Saukra still seems to be the finest metallic I have found. DarkAngelDelight
Thanks for the link Vourne. Do you find the gold pen is easy to apply to models? or does it take a couple of goes to get an even coat of gold on? Vourne
It depends on what type of nib the pen has and what colour you want to apply it over. Darker colours are obviously better when applying the ink, otherwise you may need a few coats. Softer nibs apply much better than a ball point and have a better flow of ink, however it's harder to fine soft tips or felt tips with a very fine point. Ball point or roller ball nibs can sometimes scratch the paint work too if you're not careful. Larger nibs are of course not too bad if you are applying it to large areas such as tanks. But if you looking at doing smaller areas such as Space Marine shoulder pads then you really need as sharp a point as you can find. Well i'd want a finer point, basically like by black 001 sakura pens. but in gold obviously for some extra detailing. Thanks for the links again and thanks for the tips. i might have to buy some and try them out! :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/262392-gold-micron-style-pens/#findComment-3200841 Share on other sites
Warsmith Aznable
are these pens avalible in the states? Before ordering off the internet and paying a bundle in shipping for a pen, you should check to see if you've a local Keith Coldsnow store. That's generally where I get my Sakura markers, and if they don't have it in stock they might be able to order it without you having to pay individual shipping.
