Horus Heresy Armies

No Foes Remain

Why would Forgeworld take so long to get the entire series out? Talking in years is a bit off-putting really.

That, and I'm still waiting for Tau to get their rightly-deserved update.

They will take so long to get the books out because they don't have a time machine - yet. I'm pretty sure Simon Egan could sculpt a working one though

The books have all got to be written is the short answer along with artwork. Betrayal had been in the works for twelve months or more. They also need to sculpt all the figures etc for each book and if you consider Angron took over six months that is a lot of sculpting time just to finish Primarchs from Betrayal.

I am calmly waiting for book three; supposedly, that's the book the Iron Warriors are supposed to be in.

Then I'll go bankrupt. ^_^

Where did you get the info on IW being in book three? Do you know the setting for book three? I heard at GD that book three would not be set on Istvaan V and thought that meant them going to Prospero or possibly Calth before returning to complete Istvaan based on book two being Night Lords, Word Bearers, Raven Guard and Iron Hands?

Well I currently have a 40K Iron Gorgons (Iron Hands successors) and having seen the new Dark Apostle figure I'm gonna start a Word Bearers army soon. So based on this I'd love to have a force of Iron hands and Word Bearers, maybe with the Primarchs leading the way =p, Haven't quite decided whether to paint them slate grey or crimson though
Did a forge world order yesterday to build a 1000 point starter force, all while wincing at the price. Going to paint them as Luna Wolves and use the BoLS Luna Wolves transfers for the Legion Markings. I'm waiting to see which Legions my gaming buddies are going to go with, one's considering Sons of Horus so we will probably end up doing the Isstvan Masaccre campaign themed around Abaddon and Little Horus vs Torgaddon and Loken.

I've been thinking about doing two coalition forces for a while now. Istvaan V loyalists and Drop Site Loyalists. The drop site is even more of a draw now that forge world has cataphract models on the way.

Morlocks. Yes please, thank you. And Firedrakes and Raven Guard jp troops.

I would like to see a Sons of Horus,Death Guard, Emperor's Children, World Eaters force all together though.

I'm gonna have to work some overtime. And learn to paint!

Lorenzen, who was also at GD. Somebody's getting conflicting info, then.

After reading the book I'm definitely going for the Sons of Horus. And I'm actually thinking about doing a full Cataphractii Terminators army. It's won't be the more powerfull build for sure, but might have a nice impact on the table. Can't wait for Forge World to release the bad guys.

Any thoughts on justaerin? i think they are pricey but lethal. I'm going for abbadon, 2 justaerin squads of 5 men aswell as some normal cataphractii squads.

Mmm, honestly I found them too pricey. The multi-melta is nice though. But if I would take them (which with the preview pictures I'll probably do) I would take a big unit of 10 because the enter price is quite high (like everything in the book). Add Horus himself or a character and put them in a Spartan Land Raider and go to town. Sure it become super expensive but at least it will smash everything.

Well I've had betrayal for two days now and I'm even more confused now. I love the rules for the Primarchs, all of them! But I think maybe sons of horus, I love the rule that says if they outnumber you in assault they all get one attack extra at int step 1. The book is so beautiful though, its worth the verbal beating I got from my wife.
I'm going to go for Sons of Horus to begin with, those termies look ace. I reckon Blood Angels will be a few years off yet but when they do I will probably have to sell some body parts to fund it. :)

Lol! Thats why I'm doing Son of Horus well and the fact that not to many people are doing them. I have some Mk II marines all painted up. Just need to know what to paint on the right shoulder pad. Cause I won,t be getting Betrayal till Chrstmas

There doesn't seem to be a standard. The images in the book have the Eye of Horus (the one with the arrow pointing down rather than yellow 'lizard' eye). Most have this on both shoulders. One has the Eye his chest and the devastator squad marks on both pads. The elite (black armoured ones) have a variant Eye on their pads.
