Bits for EC...

Other then the horrible kits for EC by GW, I got to thinking about alternate bits to use for EC and came across these,

Seems like some nipple armor and flexed abs done up with some piercings and/or tattoos could convey some Slanesshy goodness. Anyone used them before with modifications to remove the BA icons?

Funnily enough I was thinking of a modeling thread based on these and the Dark Eldar range. All of my minis and supplies are currently in HouseMoving Hell, leading to a few failed projects lately but once im settled id like to start up a thread. Im thinking of casting my own sculpts, with voice boxes partially removed and in corporated into weapons, mutilated heads, daemon tongues and heaps of decoration etc.

I replace the main torso from the CSm box with the abdomen from either these sang guard parts and keep the chaos top half or use the Dark Eldar torsos with the EC/NM shoulder pads - both give a good look but im still trying to get this aesthetic;

I might be better off using green stuff to get the abs on a blank torso.

Let me know how you go, we can get some awesome stuff going with the more established posters on here ;)

I think if you did a casting of just the abs and the hollowed out the Chaos torso, you would have a pretty clean slate to place the abs of the SG kit into any Chaos chest piece. Just hollow out the cables and a bit to fit in the abs cast with some trimming.

Actually I used them for my Crimson Fist honor guard for Pedro Kantor. They are not bad and I was thinking of making a squad of chosen using those kits again for the crazy weapons and armour.

The icons come off real easy with a hobby knife but be careful not to cut yourself

I've wanted to Slaanesh up the Sanguinary Guard kit for a while. I also want to make a EC lord from the new Apostle and if this ends up happening I could well do the sang guard at the same time. I've used the kit to build a pre-heresy EC but I think it would be much better chaosified up a bit. Removing most of the BA relevant stuff is pretty easy.

Be sure to post pics if you give it a go :D

Edit: I just found this EC Lord (not mine), seems to be along the same lines that you're thinking.

Wow, now that is very close to what im aiming for, just not sure how to work the lines on the torso to make it look more natural.

Personally I think the torso needs to be broadened a little. Skinny and lithe fit the Slaanesh image well, but they are still Astartes after all.

If I get time tonight, I might give something similar a go. I should be doing my assignments but EC are much more interesting...
