randian
Assuming that the warrior is depicted is Perturabo, I find several things odd about it: 1) It appears he has no right arm, and has affixed a gatling-bolter as a replacement. 2) It appears he has no waist, as if his entire lower body from the hips down was removed and replaced with robotics. Does this appear so to anybody else? I don't recall Perturabo being so grievously injured. Chapter Master Kanithon
I'd say it is Perturabo and that he has a wrist-mounted bolter and is in something similar to terminator armour so the armour would be quite bulky and also have exposed servos in the legs, which what appears to be the robotic parts you can see. Just my 2 cents Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/262520-angel-exterminatus-cover-art/#findComment-3197974 Share on other sites
Demus Ragnok
1. Wrist mounted combi/storm bolter. 2. Artists impression of a primarch in termintor armor. Ordos20
I did note an insane amount of cabling to his head and nose. Which, don't mind me saying this, but I found odd. With Angron I can understand. He was grafted with the butchers nails. But for Perturabo I don't really see the point? Lucien Eilam
1) It appears he has no right arm, and has affixed a gatling-bolter as a replacement. That's the business end of his fist. I think you must be confusing the black of the soft armour at the knuckles for barrels. The gun is mounted on the vambrace and is almost hidden by the muzzle flash, but looks like a storm bolter. 2) It appears he has no waist, as if his entire lower body from the hips down was removed and replaced with robotics. I can clearly see a belt in the shadow below his torso, then his upper legs are largely concealed by trophies and what looks like a pterugres whirling around him. Rain
I did note an insane amount of cabling to his head and nose. Which, don't mind me saying this, but I found odd. With Angron I can understand. He was grafted with the butchers nails. But for Perturabo I don't really see the point? It's always been like that, Perturabo uses a lot of bionics but unlike the Butcher's Nails which are comparatively unrefined and barbaric Perturabo's implants are expertly fashioned and aid in efficiency in battle versus again the Butcher's Nails which are mostly meant to drive you into a berserk rage. Again, this was always part of the deal, Perturabo was the most technically gifted primarch whereas Ferrus Mannus was the best craftsman. Because I'm personally not seeing what you're seeing. :) Based on what I see... 1) His right hand is visible, as are the barrels of his wrist mounted combi-bolter (faintly within the muzzle flash). Arrows - Horizontal & Vertical = combi-bolter barrels; Horizontal = his thumb; Vertical = his little finger. 2) He's in Cataphractii plate. He has a waste its just covered/protected by laminar style armour. Arrows - Horizontal = segmentata-esque overlapping lamenar plates over abdomen; Vertical = belt with demi-robe/skirt and pteruges; Horizontal = exposed leg servo/piston (part of the armour's enhanced exo-skeleton; as seen on current Terminator kits); Vertical = the studded plate of his greave (so leg armour). Hopefully those close-ups are of some help. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/262520-angel-exterminatus-cover-art/#findComment-3198115 Share on other sites
