Dark Angel Librarian (Dark Vengeance)

Hi guys,

 

Thought I'd share this with you, I recently entered the GW Sydney Dark Vengeance painting competition.

 

There was some really nice entries but after a three-way tie and much deliberation my Librarian was declared the winner!

This was the first Dark Angel I've ever painted, so I was really pleased with the outcome.

It was a bit of a 'stock' paintjob, but I had a really limited number of paints, so I had to mix most of the colours you can see myself!

 

My first marine paintjob since I moved to Sydney, so a lot was learnt along the way about painting in the heat.

 

I never thought painting a mini would have so many new challenges. :P

Nice and clean paintjob. The robes are pretty convincing.

Cheers! The little freehand Aquila was a bit of a last minute decision but I'm glad I did it as apparently it was the deciding factor in who won the painting competition!

 

Not that happy with the sword, I think there was a lot of room to improve there but I had so few paints (no red/orange) so I couldn't really do much else with it!
