Madwolf Shadowmane
I'll take and post some more tommorrow as tonight I have a hockey game to attend. Been painting almost everyday as I have a squad to clear off the table before I can start my ETL vow. Madwolf Shadowmane
New pics current view from the front. I am working around finishing off the details before I add the weathering. I still have the back and the right side left to do. Closer look at the front details before weathering left side which is almost done on the details I still need to highlight the lower back area near the rear tracks Venerable Dreadnought- I intend this to be my next vow for the ETL if I complete my first one. custom made twin-linked flamer another shot. Hopefully I will get to this for the ETL. That's all for now. The_Chaplain
Hey, first of all, thanks for taking the time to go through my DIY thread and comment. I think you're doing some great things on these models- the little icons and details you're adding are spiffy. The displays for your infantry are coming along nicely as well. The sicaran is shaping up as well- although I think your highlights need to be slimmed down some; they are rather thick in terms of line width currently. Keep it up brother! deathspectersgt7
The Tank is coming along nicely. But really liking the Dread. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/262924-working-on-the-hunt-pic-heavy/page/2/#findComment-3675944 Share on other sites
UltraRich
I like what you have done with the twin linked flamers but personally I'd have put them side by side (but only if they are the same model flamer) or put the smaller one at the top. The reason is that the fuel tube of the longer one hangs in the line of fire (literally) of the shorter one below. At the end of the day though it's what you are happy with and I'm sure it'll look great if painted like the tank Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/262924-working-on-the-hunt-pic-heavy/page/2/#findComment-3675991 Share on other sites
Madwolf Shadowmane
First of all thank you for your comments. @ The_Chaplain After looking at the pictures I see exactly what you are talking about. I plan to go back and fix those after I've finished the details. @ deathspectersgt7 Thank you. Quite an impressive force you have there yourself. @ UltraRich The heavy flamers are actually staggered and the bottom one is offset to the right. Hard to tell from the pics. They also are not the same heavy flamer model. I had searched the GW site and forgeworld an realized that there isn't a twin-linked heavy flamer for a dreadnought so I made my own from my bits box. I plan to paint the dread in a scheme somewhere between the tank and my infantry models. Thank you for the view and comments. geektom
Great stuff- I especially like that tank! Props to anyone who paints that much yellow! We are a special brand of crazy. I really like the way you use red on the backpacks, too. Keep it up! Ace Debonair
That Iron Seer might be my favourite model you've done up to now. He looks like he's taking a quick time out from repairs to ruin some poor heretic's day with his gun! Madwolf Shadowmane
Thank you. Not too long and I'll have this pack finished. I started assembling the next pack. I tried to add in a few more dynamic poses. I'll post pics of them once I get them based. Madwolf Shadowmane
Time for another update. Only thing left to finish is the sponsons. Also when the sponsons are done, then I have to weather it (which is something I am very nervous about) Side view Model's eye view, as if it was about to be tank shocked. And......I finished my second ETL vow. I will not be doing another this year as I am taking summer classes in college (a return after 21 years of military service) and my wife was understanding for the first two, but I think she might not be as understanding for a third. Comments and Criticism welcome. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/262924-working-on-the-hunt-pic-heavy/page/2/#findComment-3729574 Share on other sites
Eldrick Shadowblade
Dreads looking great. I agree with The_Chaplain and think you should go back and thin down those highlights some. Just use your base color and thin it back. You're a brave man doing yellow and red! geektom
or do a 50/50 mix of the base and the highlight color and thin the highlight on both sides-- will still show the highlight but also make a more natural transition.
