Fytharin
So I've been pretty quite these last few weeks. Been busy with real life and such but been checking back every now and then. Seems like a lot of people are ditching their rhinos and I can't help agree with it. My last few games I rarely seem to get my squad out of the darn things until about turn three and by then they'e a little late to the party. But anyways my real question is how have people been dealing with aircraft these days. Have you been taking allies? Fortifications? I'm looking towards a 2000 pt army now mainly because my local game store did a 25% off all minis day and I hate to admit it but two 10 squad boxes, a whirlwind, two standardbearers and a wolf lord later I'm actually pretty close to being able to make that size of an army now. :) Here is roughly what I'm looking at for 2000 pts Njal Stormcaller w/ 5 Fen Wolves 4 Grey Hunter Packs Squad 1: 2xmeltas, standard, motw Squad 2: 2xmeltas, standard, motw (Possibly use a drop pod) Squad 3: 2xflamers, standard Squad 4: 2xPlasma?, standard Long Fang Squad (Thinking about dedicating a razorback as their transport? Any thoughts?) 1 Squad Leader 5 Missle Launchers Whirlwind (Situational use, I would use against Guard and especially orks) TWC 2 Storm Shields 1 Wolf Claw Thunderwolf Lord Thinking about taking a frost axe Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/262986-flying-puppies-also-my-2000-pt-rough-list/ Share on other sites

truesonofruss
Its not looking too bad to me. My list is very but I take 2 squads of plasma and 2 squads of melta and I usually drop pod the two melta squads into the rear of mech lists with good results. As for the wolf lord if you can help it I would suggest PF,WC combo to give you both the high end killy and the AP when you need it. Gives a decent range in my opinion and throw a belt of Russ on him so you get the inv save still. I'm also favoring Saga of the bear when I am facing armies that have STR 10 stuff to worry about. I might ace the Whirlwind in favor of points towards a second long fang pack more versatile and the ability to split fire makes em more devastating IMHO. The only other thing I would say is consider dumping Njal and using it to get two Rune priests instead some times being able to move them two different directions and have CoS on both give you good ability to LL the heck out of people. I use Njal almost as much though so I think that's more personal opinion kinda thing. As for the fliers I haven't had much run in with them but I hear that people are taking Rune priests with one of the BRB powers and sticking them to long fangs for decent results. Nightmare84
Aircraft. I find it best prescienced long fangs and a assault cannon razorback. 6s suck to hit but rerolls you are bound to get a few.
