Question: dual melee weapons

At the Chaos Wargear List section it is stated at melee weapons:

"A model can replace his bolt pistol and/or close combat weapon with one of the following.

Is it therefore possible, to replace a bolt pistol for a lightning claw, and then replace combat weapon with an other lighting claws, paying 30 points and have dual lightning claws?

Thanks

Do you get an extra attack if you are armed with 1 lightning claw and 1 power fist?

I was about to say no, but then I cheacked my little book, and the answer is actually yes.

Hmm...Makes for an expensive set up, but we did not have this particular choice of arms previously. Interesting.

They're both specialist weapons, so I believe that's a yes.

It`s kind of odd really (not complaining though!!!), as no one in their right mind will ever go for twin claws when it costs the same to have BOTH a power fist AND a lclaw, and you only gain from it, and lose absolutely nothing.

Damn good set up on a champ when I come to think of it. Expensive for sure, but only 5 points more expensive than our old Power fist was (that used to be 25 points, right?)

Just this morning I was sending myself an email about a Jump Pack Khorne Lord with this weapon setup. I may run him with a Huron counts-as and infiltrate him with a unit of Khorne-Marked, Icon of Wrath Raptors.

As a side note: The raptor box comes with all the parts needed to build our specialist weapons specialist

Edit: Sadly, a Lightning Claw and a Power fist are not the same price. We are looking at a kinda pricy Lord.

dont`have dex on me... is LC 15 and PF 15? 30 pts? thats awesome... def gonna use...

no pf is 25pts and lc is 15 pts

That's still not necessarily a deal breaker. It used to cost 40 points to drop a daemon weapon on a power-armor Lord. If you're already planning on going all-melee with the guy, who cares if you lose his firepower if you can flip-flop between slash and mash that doesn't get all stupid on you if you roll a 1?

That's a good point!

Also, since there is a limited number of daemon weapons/artefacts that you can take (a limitation that extends even into apocalypse, where you might have several HQ guys running around) you can use this setup on any number of Lords.

This is the setup I was looking at doing for my jump pack lord. It's the cheapest way to get an extra PF attack in the game.

If you're going in termie armor you can take a chainfist instead of a powerfist just because it's hilarious(ly expensive).

Does this then also work for double power weapon (say 1, axe and 1 sword.. for depending on what you attack), because i can imagine a lord wielding a sword and axe, which should look cool modelling wise, but fist and claw.. cant imagine that..

Well claws are basically fists with pointy bits coming out of the front, you could model both on one hand, providing the other hand is free of any weapon to avoid confusion. That way the character can carry a book, a trophy, a grenade, a lunchpack or anything you fancy.

Power mauls are not two-handed, why would they be that?

You can exchange both the ccw and bp with a power weapon(maul)...though I don't see a reason to spend twice as many points as you need...

I now have this terrible urge to convert a Lord with lightning claw and plastic lunchbox. A Smurfs plastic lunchbox.
