The Emperor as 5th Chaos God?

I remember reading somewhere that thousands are sacrificed to him everyday to keep the golden throne running. Does that still stand or has it been swept under the carpet?

Don't remember the number, but 4x the amount of psykers die every day to keep the Astronomicon active, compared to when the Emperor was first placed in the throne.

Edit: found it

Here they fuel the Astronomican beacon with their psychic energies; as their powers are drained the Chosen slowly fade and die. Up to one hundred Psykers die each day powering the Astronomnican.1-p140 However, the psychic power they generate through their sacrifice is directed by the mind of the Emperor across about fifty thousand light years of the galaxy.

As for your idea, sounds like the chapter could be borne of a radical Inquisition conclave/cabal that views the current lifeforms your chapter becomes aggressors toward are meant to be purified in order to wipe away the impurities to make way for the return of the God-Emperor. The constant sacrifices increase his strength, making their belief in him returning more and more imminent with each devoted kill.

There is at least 1 loyal space marine Chapter that worships the Emperor as a God. They have strong ties with the Sisters of Battle and the church. I think they are the Hospitalers.

Furthermore, there is a faction of the Inquisition that believes that the Emperor has become a god due the the fact that so many believe in him as such.

I'll have to do some digging to find these references on the wiki.

Been thinking about this and I might try to explore the idea of each of the 4 chaos gods being different aspects of the emperors divinity.

Khorne - his martial prowes

Tzeentch - his wisdom and psychic ability

Nurgle - fatherly leadership, something to do with the corpse god thing?

Slaanesh - decadence and physical perfection

Could use some help with these. Might be a bit less awkward than my other idea.

Still miss the shiny new flying toys that loyalists get though...
