jeremy1391
When was the triumph at Ullanor where the Warmaster was appointed and Dorn became the Emperors praetorian? Is there an established year in the fluff? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/263430-ullanor/ Share on other sites
Hrvat
I believe the time that has passed between the Horus Rising and Ullanor is mentioned in one of the first two books. dragon950
Thousand Sons has both events, not sure if they mention the time between the two. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/263430-ullanor/#findComment-3209660 Share on other sites
Olis
Now this is a little bit of a guess, as I can't remember the details but isn't the gap between Ullanor and Davin something like a year? Grey Angel
Ullanor takes places just over a year before the start of Horus Rising. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/263430-ullanor/#findComment-3210939 Share on other sites
Balthamal
The exact date isn't really mentioned but Horus Rising takes place in the 203rd year of the Great Crusade and that immediately followed Ullanor Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/263430-ullanor/#findComment-3211126 Share on other sites
jeremy1391
Awesome a year is good enough for me. Thank you Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/263430-ullanor/#findComment-3211460 Share on other sites
DarkChaplain
The exact date isn't really mentioned but Horus Rising takes place in the 203rd year of the Great Crusade and that immediately followed Ullanor  The thing is that the events depicted in Fallen Angels, after the initial purge on Isstvan, before the Dropsite Massacre, are said to have happened during the 200th year of the Great Crusade. Now, that could be just inaccurate, but it gets reiterated at the beginning of each chapter.  The exact dates or years are really not clean cut at all, which is too bad. It makes me wonder if those Horus Heresy meetings actually worked with something like a real timeline, a chart in which to mark the events of the books, and make sure they don't trip over their own feet. I mean, how hard could it be to draw a line starting year-x, ending year-y with the siege of terra, and marking the events of the proposed books right on that scale? Well, it can't be helped. frostclaw222
One also has to adjust from the sidereal and check the "check-sum reliability offset" (or whatever they call it) on the actual full-fledged date rendering in IoM format. It could be off quite a bit, relativistically speaking. Three whole years? I dunno, but given the vagaries of warp travel...anything's possible. jeremy1391
So it would be safe to say "at the end of the second century of the great crusade" if I were to put it into a story? Deus de Mortalis
I would say beginning of the third century of the great crusade. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/263430-ullanor/#findComment-3217009 Share on other sites
