Red Scorpions
Hey guys, so I walked into a gaming store that has forge world items, and they had an assembled Angron. He was barely centimeters taller than the causulties! Discuss. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/263454-angron-model/ Share on other sites
Olis
His knees are bent. Your turn. <_< Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/263454-angron-model/#findComment-3209535 Share on other sites
Lord Ragnarok
Olisredan has it. They are bent so he will appear shorter. Also he has a lot of armor up top. this makes him appear "squat" but its an eye trick. Red Scorpions
Good point............ But what if Abbadon is taller? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/263454-angron-model/#findComment-3209593 Share on other sites
The Emperor's Champion
I'd hope Abaddon isn't taller. Abaddon's model is too short to be Abaddon himself. Hell, Abaddon is too short to be a regular Chaos Terminator.... MadDoc
I very much doubt that the current (or any new) Abaddon model will be bigger (in terms of both height and overall mass) than FW's Angron model. Spinsanity
Good point............ But what if Abbadon is taller? Impossible. Everyone is taller than Ezekyle 'Tom Cruize' Abaddon. When he actually looks taller, it's because some play of optics has managed to fool you. Â He has some serious height complex or he wouldn't be crowned with that obviously overcompensating topknot. MadDoc
There is a scale pic on this blog, with a bit of figuring it shouldn't be too hard to work out a reasonable idea of relative scale. Â The writer of the blog even remarks that taking his pose and the Chaos Marine's horns into account he is still clearly larger than a Marine. Oh. Yea. With that picture it's completely clear that Angron is huge. His hip joints come up to at least the bottom of a Marine's upper chest plate. A Marine's helmet vent should come up to about Angron's chest.  Wonder how tall the rest of the Primarch's will be. Last I heard, I think Angron is actually meant to be sort of slightly below average in height and gargantuan in bulk, compared to his brothers. But then maybe this week they decided Angron was extra huge. They don't seem to be too clear on that point. The Emperor's Champion
Seriously, I just worked it out a little more accurately. I think Angron is nearly Dreadnought height. MadDoc
Seriously, I just worked it out a little more accurately. I think Angron is nearly Dreadnought height. Now I really want to see a side-by-side with Angron and a Dreadnought... Â Edit - I wonder if there are any frater out there that have Angron already and would be willing to take such a pic. Â Edit 2 - Or even a side-by-side with Angron and Abaddon... Lorenzen
the black bar is angrons height from the middle of his foot (asume its flat) to his head.  http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2012/289/1/5/angy_by_typhion-d5i23an.jpg  mortarion and horus will be bigger as they are both a: in terminator armour and b: meant to be big lads.. ill be suprised if they dont come on 60mm's as standard tbh. Captain Semper
Â This. Â Angron is not among the tall Primarchs. Do you guys remember the artwork from the cover of the "Primarchs"? He looks like a midget in comparison to his brothers... Now even if this is attributed to bad perspective on behalf of the artist or a pose that Angron had in this particular picture, he still came accross as short - possibly the shortest of the lot (agreed not all Primarchs were depicted in that picture). Now how does this compare to normal marines? Should even a short primarch be way taller than his post-human sons? And if so, by how much? I think the Angron mini is accuratetly capturing Angron's physique in it has movement, it is not overly big, and his scenic base apears to elevate the model to stand out so people can still take pride of their new piece on the tabletop... Also there is no such thing as "correct" scale in 40k (this is a war long lost), just some vague analogies. I hope FW will do a better job with scale (within the GW limitations obviously) - I sure look fwd for the Abbadon-Loken mini diorama release... Â Now when they do Magnus, I'd expect a truly huge mini... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/263454-angron-model/#findComment-3209870 Share on other sites

Lorenzen
i was generalizing a bit.. the barbaran plate is his own creation, but lets face it its a giant suit of cataphractii without the downsides.. in short him and horus are very bulky, angron and fulgrim are just bulky.. The Emperor's Champion
I have NEVER seen Mortarion in Terminator plate. That's Typhus' thing. Â Mortarion has always seemed like a big lanky dude wearing Power Armour with a Dark Angel-ish hood and a rebreather. Â And then later on he becomes even more a big lanky freakshow of a Primarch. A cross between the Angel Of Death and the Toxic Avenger. At least that's what SHOULD result when you put together the Epic version of Daemon Mortarion and the painting of Daemon Mortarion. Arachnid99
On a side note - Magnus the Red was reputed to be the largest of all the Primarchs. He's going to be huge. :D Â From what I've read Magnus could simply use sorcery to modify his height and build so he might not be "naturally" especially tall. The Emperor's Champion
Magnus The Red has always been known as the biggest Primarch. He's a coppery red-skinned, one-eyed giant, with red hair. And that's his regular non-daemon form. He can just make himself EVEN bigger with magic. Theis
Alpharius and Omegon should be intertesting, if they ever actually do models for the twin primarchs. It would be in keeping with the whole Alpha Legion mystique to just have their "model" be the standard five suits suits of MKII, with a note in it reading, "pick any two." Akylas
Not entirely on topic but I have to say I really like how that Angron model came out.
