Sons of Horus Librarian

Bit of a random question here that hopefully someone can clear up.

I'm planning on taking the FW Sevrin Loth model and filing off all iconography, replacing icons and shoulderpads with Sons of Horus iconography. i'll also add a topknot after re-sculpting the psychic hood so it fits.

I envisaged painting the chap up in Sons of Horus sea green but wanted to see if that was actually fluffy.

Anyone know when the blue scheme for librarians was introduced or has it always been that way from the great crusade?

Any help appreciated,

Cheers

There's a point, at the time of the heresy librarians were outlawed amongst the legions, even the traitors didn't have them. At least I've not heard of any being used in Istvaan III or V.

A World Eater librarian seems even less likely what with the butchers nails and the legion eventually going over to Khorne.

Other than Abaddon and his terminators, do the Sons of Horus really have much use for topknots?

you know, i always had questions about this. since the SoH and others were rebeling from the imperium why would they keep the laws set down by decree of nikea? also if you look back at Mortarians speech at the trial he said that the DG will never have any psykers in there ranks. we know that the WB consort with deamons and have them posses them( the gor vorbat..spelling off i know) so thats sort of like use of psykers. the death guard were learning of the blessing of the grandfather(as feature in the BL 2012 Chap book....read it and FotE...YOUR CHOICE ON THAT ONE...I LIKED IT). the TS......well......yeah nuff said they kinda got the shaft. but what about the other legions? i think that in a way the use of psykers by the rebel would be like another middle finger to the loyalists. think about it. here is a scenario.

SCENE

istavan 3

SOH ...um...Bob- hi brother! how are you doing?

SOH....TOM- fine brother bob...*tom shoots out mind lightning at bob*

SOH BOB- ow!! stop it you know what the emperor said...

SHH TOM-screw the emperor!!!

SOH BOB- YOU.....ow!!...you D***!!!!!!

SOH BOB DIES!

END SCENE

So...yeah that happened. i would like to see how the rebels handel that. weather its a slow process(like some DG) or really fast and terribly creepy( like the EC...stuff in reflection cracked was ripped out of clive barkers wet dreams....ew) also i know that the BA, UM and to a more strategic side the IF are rethinking the ruling of nikea( or if you are a SW just claim some bs on how your power comes from your home world and you will be ok......d***s!)and i like that the loyalists are starting to(limited but its coming) think for themselves.

oh and to answer your question. the storm seer in TS did have a blue tabbard that signified his position as a librarian. whether or not that was a legion wide trait i don't know. the TS never used it and the had a LOT of psykers. take that as you want. i honestly like the use of color markings to make units stand out. but use your best judgment and im sure that all will work out for the best. but dont trust SoH Tom....he is a jerk.

Unless this has been changed which is possible, the World Eaters did indeed have Librarians but they were all killed when the legion turned by the other World Eaters as psykers are indeed hated by Khorne.

I meant the Sons of Horus/Luna Wolves didn't have psykers. But I've had a quick look at Betrayal again and can't find any reference. Might have dreamed it. If they do have librarians then I reckon you could either dress them the same as troopers (they returned there after Nikea) or have a particular should pad. The Blue is Codex in my opnion and not relevant at the moment.

Regarding top-knots, Betrayal says the top-knot and mohawks became popular from Cthonia. I'm using a couple of chaos marauder heads for some of my Luna Wolves.

They didn't become the Sons of Horus until some time after Ullanor and were still Luna Wolves at Nikea, there were Luna Wolves present at the Council as depicted in Thousand Sons.

I got the impression after "A Thousand Sons" and "Prospero Burns" that Nikea was well after Ullanor.
