Romulas
hi Guys, since i don't have the book i need to ask: can i have a inquisitor and a retinue as allies for my Red Scorpions... (yes according to the book i can use grey knights but don't know if it would work as i picture it) i was wanting to use an inquisitor leading a couple of squads of troops in valkaries as a supliment for my Reds Scorpions ala IA4. i mis the old daemonhunters and liked the idea of Inquisition calling in marines to strong arm a solution to cult or even IA4's bug infestation. really need to know if it would be worth buying another codex :P thanks in advance, Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/263520-a-question-for-the-grey-knight-players/ Share on other sites

You could use Stormravens instead (think small Thunderhawk). If you want the Inquisitor leading squads of Red Scorpions you wont be happy to hear that GKs and Space Marines are only Allies of Convenience and therefor can't join each others squads. I also miss many parts of the old DH codex... especially the fluff. Good thing is: the new dex is a lot more competitive  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/263520-a-question-for-the-grey-knight-players/#findComment-3210637 Share on other sites
Gentlemanloser
Your best bet would be to take Coteaz. As he would then let you take two squads of henchmen as Troops, and you wouldn't need to bring any Grey Knights along as the manditory 1 Troop choice for allies. Inquisitor Fox
You can roundabout get a Valkyrie as a transport for an Inquisitor and Warband if you utilize IA volume 2. Check with your local group :o Yes you can ally an Inquisitor, but if you do not take Coteaz you have to have 1 Strike Squad or Terminator Squad. As Gentlemanloser pointed out if you take Coteaz you can bypass this distinction a little bit. Again, while the Codex doesn't mention Valkyries, Imperial Armour does so they are legit :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/263520-a-question-for-the-grey-knight-players/#findComment-3210747 Share on other sites
Reclusiarch Darius
In all honesty, I wouldn't take Henchmen to supplement a Marine force. IG kinda do that job better, especially with Vendettas and Veterans. Henchmen do offer cheap plasma cannon, if you're into that.
