The daemon codex

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking of getting some Allied tzeentchian daemons for my Thousand sons, I have the models, just not the codex and don't want to buy it if it has a good chance of being replaced soon, so does anyone have any idea if it is being replaced soon/when it may be redone?

Funny, I was just about to ask this myself. I'm thinking about getting some demon allies for my CSM but I too was hearing romours of a new codex. Why would these rumors even surface if there was an official update just this august? And why did not GW just realease a new codex, and make a :cussload of money? I just don't get it..

The current release rumor says all of chaos is getting redone. So, WoC are next, followed by DoC, then lastly Chaos Daemons. Probably getting an new codex in March, then. You have about 5 months to play with the current one. ;)

And you'd be surprised. The last time they did a WD update (Vampire Counts) it was mere months before the new armybook came out. This will probably be the same.

I think it entirely likely; it seems that Chaos in general and across the systems is experiencing a massive (and sorely required) overhaul. If so, I'm hoping to the Nth degree that the writers will take advantage of the allies system to create some serious synergy between the Chaos Space Marine and Daemon codicies. For example, it would make alot of sense for Chaos Space Marines and Daemons to operate on a level beyond mere "battle brothers," since, as the Chaos Codex demonstrates, not only do they fight together, in some instances, the definition between the two becomes extremely flimsy (e.g. Obliterators, Warp Talons, Daemon Princes etc).

Would've been nice if the "Dimensional Key" would've affected units from Daemons codex and not just "friendly units from this codex that arrive by deep strike"... Deep Strike hates me...

That wiki states that the new codex is due out 10 months ago...
