John_f
Hello! I recently started a CSM army and I'm looking to include some deamons as allies. From what I can tell, you divide your deamons into two group, equally large and then one group comes in first turn and the second rolls for reserve as normal. They all deepstrike. And you can NOT use CSM icons to avoid scatter. Is this correct? Is there any other way to avoid scatter? Thanks John Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/263665-newbie-questionsummary/ Share on other sites
Jacinda
Correct. The daemons can buy their own icons but the first half will always be subject to scatter. Maybe. There is an argument that daemons do not scatter when they arrive within 6" of a chaos icon and CSM icons are indeed chaos icons. And while CSM have lost the ability to safely deep strike near icons, the daemons have not. The rule lawyers are still hashing this one out and it really needs an FAQ but for now, you could always email GW and ask or better yet, just talk this over with your gaming group and decide how you all want to play it. Considering the cost for an Icon of Excess versus the benefit you receive, being able to safely bring on daemon allies may well be the reason for the higher cost.
