Thanks for the comments guys, I shall go ahead with the scheme then, I've got two other marines built for the most part, so I'll get photos up at some point, as for further painting I'm gonna wait until the call officially starts and try to get some more done on my World Eaters before I stack another project on my plate lol.

So here's the next two members of 1st Claw.

Credit for the Autocannon idea goes to Dan the Demon. I always hated how unwieldy Autocannons looked on Astartes, so when I stumbled across Dan's Alpha Legion conversions I knew I had found the answer.

That's nice DtD-pattern autocannon conversion, I like the result. Also nice touch on bolter with drum magazine.

Speaking of paint scheme - lightnings are nice, especially for the first try. My suggestion is, try to make them a bit longer.

Also, generally - try to add some high-lightings to golden and blue parts on the edges.

And I wish you luck ;)

Thanks DarkVen! I gotta say your work is part of what inspired this army, as far as the highlights go I'm still a little uncertain about the best way to build them up without them looking ridiculous.

Thanks Hushrong, here's an updated pic of the test model with the blue highlights DarkVen suggested, this again was a first for me as I usually eschew heavy highlighting on my models, so constructive criticism would be much appreciated! Thanks.

Thanks for the comments guys, I'm eagerly anticipating the start of the call, but at the same time I'm glad I've got some time for the conversions I've got going on in this army.

Without further ado, here's a nice beefy update!

This fellow is gonna be one of the few renegade marines who've gone over to the Night Lords Legions out of spite for there own chapters or just because they enjoy skinning the enemy a little too much... Like this guy! He's going to be from the Space Wolves chapter, a little tip of the hat to my first army back in '98.

And last but far from least, the first 3 of my Atramentar Terminators. I'm putting extra detail into these guys with lots of bit swaps, and green-stuffing to represent baroque, highly detailed suits of cataphractii warplate from the days of the heresy.

I'm surprised Brother Nihm hasn't seen this yet!

Why would you assume he hasn't? :)

 good point!

I dig the highlights and the lightning. :tu:

If you bring up the contrast on the faceplate a bit more (e.g. through gold or silver highlights) I think he would look even better, as the eyes are usually drawn towards the helmets on the minis.
