dizzy-xc
I like the black better than the red. Did you paint over it? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/263892-wolf-lord-on-thunderwolf-black-style/#findComment-3215923 Share on other sites

Skoby
I'm really intrigued by your black technique, when I've seen that effect before its looked grey but yours is just right. What colours did you use? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/263892-wolf-lord-on-thunderwolf-black-style/#findComment-3216438 Share on other sites
MadFly-Art
These are two different miniatures, one was to be painted in blood angels style and the other in black templars style. For the Black style is just from black to white through some grey tones, maybe i should stretch the upper reflection a bit wider. Validar
I hope you didn't just come here to hear people drool over your miniature - your painting skills are incredible and it is far beond anything I could do myself. ... but The NMM is great, albeit a bit dark on such a dark model. The chest-wolves would pop much more with a brighter gold, which is more to my personal taste. And I think the wolf is a bit uninspiring. Because it is mainly black, just that, nothing about it. With such an amazing marine as the ride, you'd think his mount would be just as mind-blowingly good, but in my oppinion the wolf does not live up to the rider. Then I have to say that your black armor looks stunning, especially on the legplates you can see how the light reflects in the metal. Awesome, really well done, easily one of the best black armors I've seen around. Keep it up Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/263892-wolf-lord-on-thunderwolf-black-style/#findComment-3216876 Share on other sites
Spinsanity
That is one great paintjob, yet I can't say I love the mini. I hate that head. Whenever I see it, I have a flashback of the movie There's something about Mary and considering WHAT caused her to have that kind of hairdo, it gives me the creeps when seen on a marine! ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/263892-wolf-lord-on-thunderwolf-black-style/#findComment-3217787 Share on other sites
MadFly-Art
I think it's good that the wolf does not pop as much as the marine. Marine is shiny, the wolf is matte, and the centre of attention is a rider, but maybe it could get a little bit more attention, thanks for comments!
